[Spoilers] Criticize Without Repercussion

With the site freezing and crashing so much, it has been until now (along with other things in my life) that I got in here. Holy Shit !

Yeah, Jon's body being protected at this point seems unjustified. Not a logical set up at all.

Sansa - she was addressed as "Lady Bolton", that put a smile on my face until I realized it "stung", why?  Then, the water, the dogs, meh, I am more encouraged about next week's trailer. I wonder if Briene knows or will know that she married Ramsay and was raped and if they all come to the conclusion that Littlefinger is a " very bad guy" who is equally responsible for her plight? - stay tuned as next week, Sansa finds out about Arya.

Winterhell - Every moment/scene that I see the Boltons in The home of the Starks, makes me sick. They cannot be killed soon enough for me. Oh, and fat Walda and baby bolton, I bet she dies in child birth and the baby, well, Ramsay has his own way of doing things. Roose - who knows? Shadow baby? Apparently they found Stannis's body so look for it to be burned on a cross in E9 .

King's Landing - Margeary being in prison is a joke but I cannot stand her character so "play on". This sicko - twincest crap is really old. The sad thing is, people seem to forget that Cersei/Carol is the main antagonist in the this whole thing. Littlefinger, as bad as he is, is not the main "baddie", it is this narcissistic "Bitch", who has managed to birth 3 inbreed bastards, passed them off as her king/husband's and stole the throne. Tens of, if not hundreds of thousands of men, women and children of Westeros have been beaten, raped and killed because of her "superiority complex" and entitlement. instead, this show is determined to try and make everyone who watches, feel sorry for her and it frankly makes me want to ballistically vomit so hard that Linda Blair would be proud.

Porne/Dorne - It sucks and it makes no sense. They are turning it into "Kinslaying - Amazon Land". No Arianne, no Darkstar, Hotah, one of the greatest bad asses of the books, a man who nobody in their right mind would want to fuck with, stabbed in the back by "Titties-Tyene"

Mereen - Dany is so arrogant, I find her about as humble and likeable as Cersei, cannot stand either one of them. Daario is a jerk and Jorah a fool. Varys looks stupid as an ass-kisser of "Mini-Jesus". I miss the old, elusive Varys

Tyrion/Mini - Jesus - is it wrong to want to beat a fictional dwarf? Drop kick him into orbit is something on my fictional bucket list.

Arya  - Meh, wait and see.

Mystery of the seaso:  who is the Head Harpy? - I am going to take a stab at it and say Messandei and maybe her financier is Littlefinger? Why not?

I still don't understand why the Boltons would rebel against the Lannisters to marry Sansa to Ramsey, when the Lannisters were the ones who legitimized Ramsey in the first place, and it was their power and decree that made them wardens of the north?  Especially when the show makes no effort to show any other northern lords that the marriage is meant to placate.

==Dorne was.... ughh.... Doran was the only interesting character there, and I was hoping this season would finally let him start being the Michael Corleone careful mafia boss type I'd always thought he would be..... and instead, he was apparently Fredo. Also his guard, hyped up as this big badass, we get to hear all about how they made his pole axe.... and I think his entire role in the show was 2 words and dieing... Boba Fett got more than that in Star Wars.

==As for the Dornish girls.... if they are going to be onscreen, at least one of them needs to continue remaining topless so there's at least something worth paying attention to.

==The North:  I didn't even notice that, Roose blames Ramsey for losing Sansa, WHILE he was leading the cavalry.... until some one brought it up here, and now it annoys the hell out of me.

== I fail to see how Cersei hasn't just had the Lannister army ride in and murder all the Sparrows.... Or how Jaime didn't do it immediately upon getting back.... Taking royals hostage, and torturing them has to be a crime in and of itself.... one worthy of handling I'd imagine....

==This was the first time I basically hated a Tyrion or Varys scene, let alone a scene with both... Dialogue felt forced, and their walk alone in what was supposed to be a crowded city was off putting.

==I found it hilarious/my gf got upset over the fact that, even without a single other person in the room...... The writers found a reason for Melisandre to get topless/naked. It's as if when confronted with any problem in life, Melisandre's first instinct is to remove her shirt, and see if her tits can solve the problem just by being out in the breeze.

*********Finally, my biggest point of contention, that I'm very happy to see others talk about as well:  You know damn well they're going to resurrect John at this point, because there is ZERO reason for them to keep, and not burn his body.... Let alone defend it for no discernible reason. Not a single damn person there even knows resurrection is even POSSIBLE, save Melissandre... If anything, all the people in that room should be in rush, to light John on fire, because they DO KNOW that corpses at the wall have a tendency to get up and start a Walking Dead crossover special. So they really should have just done it last episode, rather than trying to drag it out with a pathetic daytime TV cliffhanger.

My guess is that now we see that Mel is OMG Old and Ugly Gross!!! she will sacrifice herself to bring Jon back.  Since they showed her old and full frontal naked, she's a goner.

Has anyone ranted that the show itself did not start until EIGHT MINUTES in?  Good grief.

I want all the remaining characters in Dorne dead and off the show ASAP.  Even the 5 minutes was too much.  And now they killed Siddig and Hota so there is no hope for the story.

I also want to mention that "BAD PUSSY" was in the 'previously on' segment.  That is Dan and Dave again saying fuck you to their critics.  You didn't like the bad pussy, too bad bitches, we got our Emmys yo. Why else call attention to it except as a middle finger gesture?

Riddle me this: what exactly does Mel being secretly old add to the plot? Like, how does that advance the story? We already know she has magic powers and a mysterious backstory. So she's using magic to make herself forever young and beautiful? Okay! Fine! But that does nothing to change the course of the story. So why are people saying it's so shocking? For the exact same reason we have all those memes about "take the girl swimming on the first date." People are shocked because Mel's role in the story is to serve up sex appeal. Not to be an actual character.

Which is like, fine. She's pretty sexy. But the fact so many people are acting like this is a giant twist is because the show has made Mel's sex appeal more important than her actual personality. Like, maybe if we'd seen a scene where she tells Jon Snow to keep guards around him, because appearances matter (a major theme of her POV chapter) and then we'd seen that she's using magic to control her appearance, it'd tell us something about her character--that she's politically savvy and understands the dynamics of power. Book readers have known all along Mel uses magic to control her looks--red eyes, anyone? Her being older than she looks isn't shocking at all--it's something we generally assume to be true. In the books, Mel's appearance is a tool she uses to further her goal: saving the world from the Others.  In the show, Mel's appearance isn't hers to use--it exists to titillate, then to shock male viewers. Cutting the stuff from her POV chapter about Jon and appearances single-handedly injects loads of sexism into the plot.

Agreed....a poster on Reddit the other day was trying to explain how Cersei is television's greatest anti-hero of all time.

This episode was one of the worst. It had no integrity.

1. The Wall:
So Davos forgot all about Stannis and Shireen? He acts like he never knew them. On top of it all he holds no gurdge against Melisandre anymore.

2. Dorne/KL

Why on earth did they kill Doran and Trystane. They were the only living members of house Martell. Apparently the Sand Fakes wnated to avenge Oberyn, Elia and her children, and so they murder his Only brother and his child. And now house Martell is extinguished. And they think they can now rule Dorne. What about the other powerful Dornish houses - The Yornwoods, Daynes...? Are they going to let the Sand Fakes go after they murdered their princes?

At Kings landing, why did Jaime leave Trystane on that ship. He is the heir to Dorne - with whom they are going o start a war. Shouldn't he be taken in custody the moment they arrived? And by what logic did they leave a Martell ship under the command of Martell soldiers at the port after what happaned?

Another issue I find is, the moment Ellaria poisoned Myrcella, she knew she was going to kill Doran and Trystane. She might have already had the Dornish soliders on her side. Then why did they let Jaime sail to Kings Landing. They could have simply brought back the ship and held Jaime hostage or outright killed him - they knew they were going to war against the Lannisters.

3. Sansa/Brienne

How did Brienne know that Sansa had escaped from Winterfell? Brienne's constant screaming made me mute my TV until the fight was over. It was sooo annoying.

My biggest gripe is that the show is clearly going to drag out the Jon Snow resurrection. As if Glen on the Walking Dead wasn't bad enough.

And I don't know what's worse: what happened in Dorne or the fact that the biggest take away from the episode for fans was "OMG OLD LADY BEWBS." That's literally all I heard at work today. I was like "That was your issue with the episode. Really?"

At this point, GOT is not only too big to fail but also to care.  This show is worldwide. If the Beatles where around now(not that much of a fan, only using for dramatic purposes) that famous line would read " we're bigger than Game of Thrones". There is no other excuse for this type of sloppy writing & plot progression/direction, sexism, homophobia, racism, etc etc other than "you're still gonna watch".

Pretty much. I'm a viewer that came to ASOIAF through the show, but like most here, I find it difficult to care about these TV characters. What I'd much rather have is TWoW... sigh.

What D&D did with Dorne, culminating with last night's debacle, was the worst. Sincerely hope the books won't turn out that way.

The irony is that both houses died as a result of kinslaying.

Hmmm technically Gendry is still around so House Baratheon still has a chance of surviving in the all too slim likelihood he gets legitimized.

Martells on the other hand. It would appear that every single male who has a chance of passing on the name (which was like 3 guys) are dead so yea....

I will never, ever understand David and Dan's decision to cut Quentyn and Arianne. And clearly, Trystane's not super important to the ultimate endgame in the books. I was legitimately shocked when he died.

It's the part of the episode I can't get over. While I know the storylines are diverging, I can't help but wonder if last night's bloodbath means House Martell will be extinct by the end of the series. It's driving me nuts... only a busy work day saved my sanity!

was much better

These fucking writers can't just stick to massacring Martin's writing? They have to shit all over other great work too? When I saw that perversion of the classic Conan, the laughter stopped. I hate this show.

Mel's glamour capabilities will come into play I suppose. It is not like she can shoot fireballs out of her ass and even shadow babies need a father and time to gestate.

Ugh! Thanks for saying that. Cause now, it's gonna get back to D&D and next production meeting, they'll be all like, "Hey, wouldn't it be cool if Melisandre shoots a fireball out of her ass?" And then we'll have to see it.

This episode may just be the worst yet. Haven't had time to get caught up with all the humorous faults listed herein, but it occurred to me last night that for being the capitol and all, King's Landing could use a deep water harbor. Unloading all the cargo into little boats and then carrying it up all those steps is probably super inconvenient for the hub of trade.

Dorne was just plain awful. I think that the Dorne Storyline is not good in the books either, but this was one abysmal failure. The sand snakes are the worst characters on the show, I despised the scene in which they kill Trystane. I hated the "Greedy bitch" line. Was this supposed to be funny?

I agree with your overall point, but it should be noted that Robert E. Howard (Conan's author) adapted that from a quote attributed to Genghis Khan.

In his Compendium of Chronicles, Rashid-al-Din Hamadini quotes Genghis Khan as saying, "The greatest enjoyment of a man is to overcome his enemies, drive them before him, snatch what they have, to see the people to whom they are dear with their faces bathed in tears, to ride their horses, to squeeze in his arms their daughters and women."

Translations vary, of course.
