Generally speaking I'd give it an 8 or 9. But due to haters who hate for the sake of it and vote 1, I'll vote 10 any time I see any votes for a 1. The show quality is high enough that no episode in the series could ever receive less than a 4 if not for the irrational hate.

Yawn more daenerys and ramsay glorification at the expense of plot and logic. Oh look Brienne gloats to Davos that she killed Stannis and he stands there like a welp.

But Davos said in ep 1 that he has never been a fighter, and he kinda agreed with her motivation, he was never comfortable with Mel's witchcraft

Gave it a 6 and 125/256.  Couldnt quite round it up to 7.

- for Osha being killed but what a plot turn around if she had managed to off Ramsey.  At least an easy death for her compared to what it could have been.

- for the High Sparrow going on and on.  Great actor but boring scene.

- for Dany.  I dislike her and the choice of actress for her so much even bare boobs cant save the day.

- for Littlefinger and sweet Robin.  Whats next?  Twirling mustaches and hand wringing

Shame about Osha going without doing much really, she seemed like a good character, and GRRM liked her too.

Johnathan Price did an excellent job, but the material was a bit boring and overly self-righteous, I wasn't really convinced that waking up with a hangover was enough to put someone off shoes forever.

It made a change to see Boobs that fit with the context and weren't entirely gratuitous. not sure why she kept her hair though.

It did feel as though Little finger had just finished tying Penelope Pitstop to a railway line, didn't it?

Easily a 9.  Jon and Sansa reunion, Kings Landing plot progressing, pink letter and DANY!  I loved the last scene.  Instead of running for her life, she hatches a brilliant plan to kill every Khal and win over the entire Dothraki to her side as well.   I'm surprised some people here hate this scene (Ok, not really... this board is ridiculous) since her being "UnBurnt" is not only part of her titles but it also comes straight from the mind of GRRM.  It's not like that scene was stretching what is already known.   Dani knows that she is impervious to fire and used it to her advantage.  Now, she has her unsullied, freed men, Second Sons and a whole horde of Dothraki at her disposal.

I'm really interested in seeing her take of Tyrion's attempt at a truce with the slavers.  Especially since she now has a force large enough to wreck slavers bay if she wants to.

I think that by the time Dany gets back to slavers bay, Mereen will be under siege anyway, but she would probably approve of going down the peace route in general, but she has enough plausible deniability to overturn it and say no, I always wanted to kick the master's arses all along. It wold fit with Tyrion's whole story of doing what is best and getting no credit for it.

Dany asked one of the ex-Khaleesis for help beforehand so I assumed that she'd spread something flammable on the floor.

I had assumed that they had spread some oil around beforehand. they had made the point earlier that it stank in there, so it is plausible to me that the Khals wouldn't have noticed anything, also, someone locked the door

I know, right? I vote for Torienne! hahaha

The look on his face was great, I know it is kinda similar to the look I'd have on my face if Brienne rode through the gates in front of me.

9/10 Best episode of the season so far. We see alot of plot movement which we were all waiting for, mainly Sansa and Jon and Dany.

Lots of plot movement for Dany, Jon, And Sansa. The Vale looks set to get involved too.

Very little to nitpick about so I gave it just over 7 1/2, rounded up to 8. The average vote comes out at 7.3 at the moment, so it is the first time I've given above the average this season.

I don't know what they are thinking with Jaime, and I'm not convinced that they do either, nor were they last year. Hopefully hell be off to Riverrun and back on track soon.

things in Mereen seem to be about to start moving again, and there was no Dorne, Hopefully we'll see more of the Iron Isles next week because that seems to need a kick  start.

Technically it is still incest. They're cousins. It's just incest that is allowed. Also Jon and Sansa still grew up siblings. When it comes to siblings falling in love, there is always a close bond as foundation. My point still stands.

And those Sandor/Jon parallels are impressive, but it's really not an indication of Jon/Sansa at all. There is no foreshadowing or hints in the books that Sansa and Jon will ever be together.

In Westeros cousins marrying isn't considered incest anymore than a stark marrying a karstark who are considered to be kin of the starks.

Joanna and Tywin lannister were first cousins and they married Joanna went to King's Landing in 259 AC, for the coronation of King Jaehaerys II Targaryen, and would remain as a lady-in-waiting for the future queen, Princess Rhaella Targaryen. There are rumours that Joanna had given her maidenhead to Prince Aerys the night of Jaehaerys' coronation, and briefly became Aerys' paramour after he ascended the throne himself. It doesn't seem like Tywin and Joanna had this great bond before they were married. I see a great deal of foreshadowing of Jon and Sansa getting together I guess we will have to agree to disagree

There weren't nearly as many this week that gave a 1, most of them were in the first half hour, so it feels as though some people are determined to give a 1 regardless, but I certainly haven't seen a 10 yet..

No Dorne this week though so that was probably what cut down on the 1s

CURRENTLY, IT IS AN OFFENSE IN ENGLAND AND WALES FOR A MAN TO HAVE SEXUAL INTERCOURSE WITH A WOMAN WHO HE KNOWS TO BE HIS GRANDDAUGHTER, DAUGHTER, SISTER, OR MOTHER. IT IS ALSO AN OFFENSE FOR A WOMAN 16 YEARS OF AGE OR OVER TO PERMIT HER GRANDFATHER, FATHER, BROTHER, OR SON TO HAVE SEXUAL INTERCOURSE WITH HER BY CONSENT.

Just looked it up, cousins don't count as incest in England, although it is generally thought a little odd. it isn't in many other countries around the world either.

There hasn't been Dorne since the premiere.

An 8.

Though the Stark reunion had a 10 in itself. I was screaming like a bitch in that scene as soon as the horn blew out. I thought that any other Stark kid reunion in the story was gonna be like Jon missing Bran in Queen's Tower: a near encounter. So I was really glad that the show gave us the joy of having Jon and Sansa together again.

Theon was on point, very intense scene with her sister. I wonder how he will be received by Euron/Vicky (I guess this new character will be a combination of both)...

Tyrion stuff was puzzling but interesting how it will play out in the long term.

Osha's death seemed like a quick exit for the character. Both my mom and I thought the actress looked pregnant. Maybe it looked to us pregnant because of the way she was standing in that tunic. That would explain her character immediate death (though in got you don't need too much of an excuse to have a character, even an important character, killed).

The Danny stuff was ok, not very thrilled. I guess I wanted her to outwit the kahls and getting dosh kaleens to her side in a more elaborated way, no mere magical force, look I'm the unburnt. For instance, we have already seen after she walks out of the pyre in the first season that though what remained of Drogo's khalassar was impressed by her magical saving, a lot scattered. The third season episode when we first get the taste of Dracarys will remain one of her best scenes, when she uses both wits and force (and dragons) to solve her situation.

Overall the best episode so far in the season.

I don't think I've ever seen anything I could truly give a 10 to. Even Star Wars, which until Disney was my favourite story ever.

That said, I've never seen anything I could give a 1 to either. There'd have to be no scoring at all, and not as a point making exercise. The acting would have to be so bad that I couldn't buy it for a moment. The camera work would have to be all over the place, constantly jittery, and constantly on the wrong targets. The writing would have to be on par with a pornographic film, or worse. And all that still wouldn't be enough to truly justify a 1. I'd have to write another paragraph of possible flaws to get there.

Tywin and Joanna is a bad example to use. The difference is that Joanna and Tywin weren't raised as brother and sister while Jon and Sansa were. Emotionally they are siblings. Like I stated already, GRRM only forms incestuous relationships between siblings with close bonds. My point still stands.

:agree:Yeah, overall GoT is a hell of a series. You can easily see the quality of its production, and all the hard work behind it. People giving it a 1 have their expectations up in the stratosphere. If we jugde the series by its own, with plotholes and all, it's still worth watching even after 5 seasons. Think of how many series drop quality and seem "lost" in the plot after some seasons, and when they reach success, producers try to keep airing episodes so the money machine doesn't stop cashing, even if it's a shadow of what it was in the first seasons. Is got the same as the first seasons? Well no, but quality hasn't dropped: Hardome and Castle Black are two episodes that show that.

People rating with a 1 are just angry that George hasn't written the book yet and GoT ain't satysfying their cravings for a closure to their fav characters. Some other people instead of complaining, have just opted to drop the show at once.

Others, like me, just bitch here because it's one of the few places where there are a lot of people who have read the books and can discuss freely. That doesn't make it a bad show even if I sometimes just hate what I see.

And even bad shows and films can end up being misundertood by a generation and becoming of cult years later... just saying

Is it a bad show?  No.  I think you are pretty much spot on with analysis and you summed up why I don't like this show anymore.  Well don't like is harsh, I like the Stark arc.  I don't like everything else.

There is/was a way to stay true to the books without stomping on them.  And yes I'm pissed at GRRM.  I think he pretty much said FU to every book reader that has been there since the beginning.

The kingsmoot should have happened a few seasons ago.  It's pointless now unless the Greyjoys have a part to play in the conclusion.

Greyjoys obviously have a part to play. Beinoff and Weiss wouldn't have introduced them otherwise. Yara and Theon are going to Essos and that is how Dany will get another fleet. Not sure why you don't understand that.
