Long time SanSan shipper now open to JonxSansa ship in the show

Recommended Posts

It was clearly a brother/sister moment they shared.

The idea of them shipping is ...disgusting.

Think there's a better chance of the show revealing that Kevan Lannister and Lady Olenna have been playing plant the snake in the birth canal off-screen than there is of this happening.

Google it. It's in the original trilogy outline.

Regardless, it's still sick and the fact that some here want this to happen is disgusting.  Not only are they likely first cousins, but they grew up as brother and sister and he's 5 years older.  She's only 9 in the books...

Do you realise that Ned's parents were first cousins? Do you realise Lysa wanted Sansa to marry Robert, who is her first cousin? Do you realise Tywin married his first cousin?

First cousins is not incest, and even if it were...it's A Song of Ice and Fire, it's built on incest.

The whole point is that they did not grow up as brother and sister, because Jon is a bastard. Lots of people who grow up together fall in love later in life.

It's pretty funny that your avatar depicts Jon and Dany, who are aunt and nephew, which, unlike first cousins, would actually be incest.

They DID grow up as brother and sister as Ned always included Jon, to Catelyns dismay.   Also, I just looked it up and originally, Sansa was supposed to birth Joffrey's child, Arya was in a love triangle with Tyrion and Jon, Catelyn was killed by the others, Tyrion burned Winterfell to the ground, Jaime murdered anyone in his way to the throne, all the while blaming Tyrion, etc.  Luckily, things have changed a lot since his initial ideas.  For the better.

Arya is a pivotal character on Jon's arc, specially in ADWD. That's not for debate. Arya has a special bond with him, the same the other way around.

I've always believed Jon would end up single or dead on the books, but, if someone is to marry/have a relationship with him, that's either Arya or Dany. There's foreshadowing for both, although I think Dany and Jon may be enemies, at least for a while.

The problem starts (well, the BIG ASOIAF PROBLEM if you ask me) when Martin sees that the 5 year gap he planned after ASOS does not work. That leaves you with a 17 year old Jon Snow, an 11 year old Arya, etc. Sansa must be 13 by the end of AFFC, and Dany is 16.

Arya is too young for Jon. The Mercy chapter already shows the problem of leaving the 5 year gap. Arya is 11 when seducing that Lannister guard.

Now, the relationship between Jon and Arya has been completely left out on the Show. There's like...no mention of Arya on Jon's part since...Season 4? The reason behind the stabbing is not the wildling matter, but Jon breaking his vows and going to fight Ramsey after he gets the Pink Latter and tells Jon how he is raping Arya. Arya is important to Jon, and Jon to Arya.

Sansa has taken that role on the Show. That's why the Northern storyline of Season 5 has little to do with that of ADWD. And we have to wonder why D&D chose to put Sansa there, when they've already said they were planning this change back in Season 2.

And yet Arya was still the girl Jon shot his oaths to the wind for and his last thought before dying was of her. Didn't change so much after all.

Ewww

But George had written in a letter to his publisher back in the early 90s that Jon and Arya would fall in love until he changed the story.  I hope they don't go in that direction because incest is not okay or normal.

Hope you aren't rooting for Dany then.  She is a product of incest is she not?

Not only that. She's Jon's aunt.

People, get over it. Any love interest for Jon will be part of his family. This is pretty clear.

Not once in the books is it indicated that he does these things because he's in love with her.  He always refers to her as "little sister" in the books.  So yeah, pretty big change.

And that's her fault?

Not at all still doesn't change the fact though.  You can't bemoan incest and then make exceptions.

The only reason it's a big deal in the case of the Lannister children is because they have no right to the throne.  If Joff hadn't sat on the throne no one would give a shit that Jaime plowed his sister and made little full breeds.
