That vision is not related to marriage. And Jon Connigton sailing on a ship smiling at getting back to Westeros, but sad that he will soon die of greyscale is a good match for the vision. And he has bright blue eyes.

It actually is related to marriage

a silver mare - Drogo

a corpse on the prow of the ship, grey lips smiling sadly - Euron Greyjoy

a blue rose growing in the chink of the wall of ice- Jon Snow

And then it gets capped with bride of fire implying she's going to be the bride of these 3 people at one point

Vyseris, Stannis, Rhaegar, Aegon and Rhaego are referenced by visions in the same paragraph. They can't all be related to marriage.

Looks like Aeron was right about Euron being mad and it wasnt all the ramblings of a biased religious figure.

Stannis, Aegon and The stonebeast are mentioned together as lies that Dany has to expose

So, nearly 5 years ago at WorldCon the audience chose wrong, even after GRRM tried to get them to reconsider. Every time someone since someone has suggested they want GRRM to read it, people chime in to say it would be lame. I hope everyone has enjoyed discussing Arrianne II for all this time. :)

Some details about the reading at WorldCon that seem to have been missed off the reports:

George actually gave the audience a choice of chapters, either Aeron Damphair or Arianne. He did try to sell the Damphair chapter by saying there was some "seriously twisted stuff" in there but the majority of the audience went with Arianne instead.

Burning questions after this chapter -

  •  Who should be king, according to what the gods told Aeron? The only remaining king-worthy candidates are Rodrik Harlaw (who did not try his luck in Kingsmoot) and Theon (who was not present). Because Aeron does not say the king's name, even in his own head, makes me think it is Theon. Because Aeron believes Theon to be dead, and to think the Gods suggested Theon's name would make either the Gods to be wrong, or himself to be mad. Being devout and already driven crazy by Euron, Aeron keeps that thought away. Another reason that the 'drowned god' would mutter Theon's name - the Drowned God is one of the First Men gods, before they accepted the faith of Old Gods. It could be actually Bloodraven or Bran  (who are both of First Men blood and working with the Old Gods and the Children) who was speaking to Aeron, only Aeron thought it was the Drowned God. We know they are already shouting Theon,Theon to Theon and Asha by the agency of ravens.
  • What are the horn's real powers? It was called Dragonbinder, but the visions suggest that it will call Dragons, Krakens and Sphinxes. I will believe the Kraken bit, because there were Kraken sightings reported by Varys/Qyburn/others. Is there is a connection between Alleras the Sphinx, Euron, and Marwin the maege?
  • Who is the woman with tall shadow? First thoughts - Dany. second thought - Night's Queen. (Who is to say Euron went mad(der) after a chance encounter with an Other, similar to the one Night's King had? What if Euron is the Night's King reborn? Maybe the Others have prophecies too.)
  • Who are the dwarves in the throne room? Kings and queens, it would seem. Cersei, Margaery, Victarion, Aegon, Stannis, maybe Dany too if she is not the woman next to Euron. In Dany's vision, small men raping the woman was the five kings tearing the realm apart, so the copulating betweens male and female dwarves in this vision would imply fights between different kings and queens.
  • Why is Euron collecting Priests? He seems to have no respect for any religion. His association with FM might suggest he is cooperating with them, but this cannot be certain, because the FM claim that all religions fall under Him of Many Faces, because all men must die. You know who does not die naturally? the Others.  Maybe HoBaW is taking over all religions via Euron, or maybe they are against him. Maybe the Alchemist is in Citadel because he learned about Euron's plans and needed to take action.
  • Why is the Valyrian Steel armor important? Maybe he is just showing off, maybe it has magical powers, maybe Valyrian steel armor will protect him from dragonfire should the need arise.

With all due respect, the previous two Aeron chapters were, in the opinion of many, not all that great. This one appears to be much more interesting. Had I been in attendance lo those many years ago, i would have chosen Arianne as well.

I was thinking the same, after reading about the Aeron chapter. We could have discussed magic and dragons and gods and all, instead we had Elia Sand's amorous activities and the flora of Stormlands (not that the latter is not interesting - the cave part was great)

Fair enough for the reaction to just the names alone, but after GRRM tried to steer them towards the Aeron chapter...

She made the realm bleed once already by setting jealous brother against brother, it seemed to amuse her. She apparently bathed in blood while Euron sails on a sea of blood.

No, Shiera liked Bloodraven and Bittersteel was an asshole about it.  The stuff about bathing in blood, etc. are just ridiculous rumours.

So the one thing that gives me hope for Captain Vic Greyjoy is that Euron in all his wisdom doesn't know about Moqorro and how Moqorro has deciphered the Dragon Horn.  Euron already had worked a spell so that Vic would blow it and die, while Euron controlled the dragons. Not anymore . ...   Vic is going to change the game.

We did find out that Aegon had taken Storms End, and that did lead to some discussions and speculations, but the cave part wasn't really described much in the initial discussions.

"At one point Elia wanders off into a cave where they find carvings from the children of the forest."

Rhaegar, Rhaego and the Mad king get capped with child of death

Stannis, Aegon and the stone beast get capped with Slayer of Lies

Drogo, Euron and Jon get capped with bride of fire

And you know this how? We are supposed to assume bathing in blood is a rumour, sure. Even so, the parallel stands even if by rumour. That she took pleasure in stoking BR's jealousy is straight from GRRM.

Euron is gathering priests of all religions . . . but the Old Gods have no priests. Greenseers are wizards, but they do not lead religious observances. The First Men bowed before a heart tree with no need for an official. Is the woman performing the sacrifice in Bran's last vision a woods witch, a priestess, or just some old woman? We don't know. It may be that whatever religious magic Euron is attempting to use through the various priests, the magic of the Old Gods may not be a part of it. He hasn't strapped a weirwood branch to the prow of a ship, has he?

Just guessing here, of course. It seems that the Old Gods are sometimes exceptions to the rules. Valar Morghulis - All Men Must Die - unless you are a greenseer, in which case your memories may live forever.
