There's somewhat of a chance that he is able to link up with LF and the Vale army at Moat Cailin. I think his reunion with Sansa happens after Ramsay bites the dust and she goes South. As for the dog motif, maybe the last of the direwolves will be the one bringing Ramsay his demise.
