So where did Arya get all that money?

In episode 5 I was operating under the assumption that something wasn't as it appeared in the scene where Arya books passage back home. If it was Jaquen booking passage for her (or something) then, sure, it makes sense he has money.

But, as it turns out, everything we saw was exactly what we thought it was, so any benefit of the doubt is forfeit.

SO WHERE DID SHE GET ALL THAT MONEY?

And why did she feel it was important to blow even more money on a private room, for that matter? Seems out of character.

I just don't get what to make of this whole thing right now. None of it makes any damn sense on ANY level.

You are right, it doesn't.

She probably stole the money and she probably asked for a private cabin because she leveled up since season 4 when she told the captain of the bravosi ship that she didn't need a cabin. She was happy that she finally found herself again and wanted to make the journey home count.

Why she strutted around Bravos like she owned the world with no weapon when she should have known the Faceless Men would be after her for not completing her mission is a mystery. Why she greeted the old woman with a board and trusting smile instead of caution is a mystery. Why she was as stupid as to think the faceless men wouldn't come after her is the biggest mystery of all.

You could argue that returning to the Stark identity equals returning to elemental Stark stupidity too. After all stupidity killed every Stark so it would only be fair that stupidity almost kills Arya as well as soon as she openly identifies as stark again.

But at the end of the day, this still went against everything Arya ever learned and everything Arya ever was. It went against every rule of consistency and logic, as well as every rule of biology. But what are stabbed wounds to a superawesome teen? It made no sense at all.

Thank you RhaBee for confirming what has been bugging me since Arya got stabbed.  She would not have been able to run from Waif that quickly and for that long with wounds like that.  I'm so disappointed in the writing.

They letting "no one" keep that money?  Seems like a contradiction since they made her throw out everything she had when she got there including money.

Maybe she ninja'd out, snuck back into the HBW, stole the money, ninja'd out again.  After all, the FM are the worst assassins ever, they must have some PR department to have that rep they got.

My thoughts exactly.  Nice work.

She hid it the same place she hid needle.  They would not let "no one" keep the sword her brother gave her either.

Wouldnt they be missing the $$ that she wasn't turning in?  Or you think she was skimming off the top and then hiding her cut every day, but no one noticed that either, further supporting the idea that the FM are terrible at everything, training, spying, killiing, everything?

Or, maybe it's another of the 10000000 random and unexplained plot holes in the show?

Sure it could be a plot hole, or it could be money she stole from The Hound and hid with her sword.  Or she could have stolen it from random Bravosi since she has been training on how to be sneaky for a long time.

In the very scene the captain or whatever he is, mentions her stealing the money.  He might just be right...

the money is easy to steal. Harder than that is Westerosi looking clothing that fits her.

After seeing last night's episode, that business with the captain looks like she was attracting attention on purpose to lure in the Waif. Didn't plan on getting stabbed (probably) but I suspect she'd been snugged up in that dark hidey hole for a week or two, reacquainting herself with needle and her waterdancer training in the dark. Making waif-kebab was always the planned endgame.

Knowing D and D, offstage she took the offer of that one dude who offered to buy her 'clam'.  Just purely for shock value without reguard to any actual plot relevancy.
