Where all da Crannogmen at?

Recommended Posts

Howland Reed was a squire and also accompanied Eddard during Roberts Rebellion so if Howland is anything to go by you canĀ assume that the fighting style of Crannogmen in general is adaptable to usual Westeros style.

Where have they been? The only explanation is that Jojen gave him specific instructions (due to green dreams) of when to appear in the future.

Meera could be taking Bran to her father. It seems like a good place to hide if that is theirĀ intention.

Yes. They used it on D&D to make them forget the Cranogmen existed. That way, they won't be made to look as ridiculous as the Ironborn.

Or the Dornish, or the Northern Lords, or the Faith militant, or the Faceless men, or the...well, I guess you get where I'm going with this.

Is it still impossible that Howland Reed is the High Sparrow? The whole shoemaker made good story sounded like a load of cobblers. He certainly seems sneaky enough, and he's done a right number on those who betrayed and murdered his liege lord - not to mention putting himself in the perfect position to place Jon on the throne, knowing what he knows...

Nah, don't think so. That's just a whole different storyline. Rowland Reed still hiding in the marshes, makes also not very much sense that he would leave the neck in these dangerous times. I suppose he's still hiding there, protecting something or someone. Maybe related to the message Robb sent him?

In the books, the Cannogmen were ordered to guard the Neck by Robb. After the Red Wedding, they still launch guerrilla attacks against both the Ironborn and the passing Boltons (Roose admits to having smuggle himself North). Also, Lord Glover and Maege Mormont were sent to Howland with Robb's Will concerning his heir and to coordinate for the attack on Moat Cailin which never happened.

In the show, the Cannogmen aren't appearing or even mentioned because of incompetent writing and plot contrivance. It makes no sense for Sansa to send Brienne all the way to Riverrun for Blackfish and evidently do nothing to at least ask Howland Reed for support. It makes no sense that this loyal vassel and friend of his father would not be at least considered a viable ally by Jon Snow or Sansa.
