Esa1996
10/10. Probably the best episode in the entire series which would make it my all time favorite episode of anything. Hardhome might have been even better IMO, but it's hard to say.

At least episode 9 had the visuals and cgi budget. This one was disjointed and full of illogical set pieces just for drama. Then again im not one to cheer evil characters doin nasty stuff. For me she did nothing clever. It was all qyburn. My rating is based on how entertained I was by the episode.
MoreOrLess
I think you could definitely make the argument that this finale found the ideal middle ground between the "comedown" finales of the first three seasons and the "repeated climax" finales of the last couple of season. In terms of shear number of great scenes I still think The Children from S4 is hard to beat but I felt the flow of this episode was more successful. Barristan Whitebeard
10/10. Best episode in the entire show, just ahead of "Hardhome". Sapochnik will be missed next season...
Lyanna<3Rhaegar
Does anyone know if anyone has ever put all the episodes in order from best to worst according to votes on this forum? If not, would anyone be interested in thread like that if I were to take the time to do it? If so any suggestions on how to tally the votes? I think there are a number of ways we could determine which is voted the most favorite (the one with the most '10' votes, the one with the highest average, adding votes at face value where a 10 gets 10 points, a 9 gets 9 points etc, removing the outlying votes) Just wondering because I would be interested in a thread like that but I'm a little weird & wouldn't want to go to the trouble of doing it if would not appeal to anyone else

Billabong
Terrible episode. Lacked in simple continuity and contained simple flaw using an illogical plot. Continuity; Winter had happened when, wasn't it last season when the raven was sent throughout the realm saying it was winter. Why is Sam, now sending the raven that was never sent to the Citadel telling us that he sent the raven that was never sent if it wasn't winter yet? Wasn't 1000 ships needed to sail Dany's army? How come the Ironborn are building a new fleet that they never guarded. A fleet that even the dragons can simply fly across the ocean without a ship, but imagine a dragon on those ships and oops that ship has sunk. Flaw: Can somebody tell me if the Red keep has moved? I am quite sure it has moved from former seasons where it was overlooking the bay? Arya disguise, she is tanned and wearing lots of make-up, we know what the Frey's did to Talisa, so who is this obvious tanned foreigner in the Twins, aside from the fact that they are all inbreds, but she picks that look, to go and slice her way through them undetected, after the Lannisters had already left? As Walder is sitting there all on his own without any guards to eat a pie that she must have also killed all the kitchen staff to take the hours needed to bake. The Freys aren't named in her prayers. None of the lords going to the trial had any armed escort, unlike the sparrow militia who locked them inside the Sept The sunshine in summer's Winter Illogical plot. It took episodes for Bran to move escaping wights chasing him, yet Jamie just blinks about.the continent in an episode. They just blow up the Tyrell's after seasons of snails pace to go and use a magic rubber to wipe them out, hey guys they go boom. The way they did that was using children to handle wildfire, when we know that stuff explodes if not handled correct. Tommen committing suicide a king in a religious culture. R+L=J, what is this, all Targeryens have what color hair and eyes, so what is Jon if not a bastard? The runes that allowed wights to get through the gate in the opening season won't allow Benjen who said he was a wight through? The Prince of Newcastle
I always read the nitpicking thread, I find it pretty over the top and childish, but largely fair and true. However, I really enjoyed this episode and would go as far to say it is the best episode since Rains of Castemere, maybe even Balour (My favourite). I have now read the nit picking thread and I had to stop after a few pages. This episode has finally cemented in my head that the show is not the books, and shouldn’t be judged upon them. I feel that as a stand alone 25 minutes of TV, the intro to this episode was one of the greatest things I have seen (I would rank it up with SPOILERS: The end of season 4 of the Wire, Andreas murder in Sopranos, Stringer Bells death in the Wire). Reading the nit pick thread, which I have enjoyed reading for years, I just felt it was petty and I noticed it was about 3 people commenting, instead of the usual droves. Anyway, this episode is not perfect. Varys teleported around to fast, the R+L=J reveal was a little underwhelming and Arya I cannot stand on the TV show (Story, actress, everything). I suppose if you want to nitpick, you could say Maderly was disappointing in comparison to his character in the novel, but this isn’t the novel, and they probably don’t have time to do that entire story (Which began its set up in the first book) justice, so why bother? Don’t get me wrong, I really began to dislike the show (Around season 4 and especially season 5) and I still don’t think that it is as good as season 1, but I do feel this episode was phenomenal. As I have said, its finally allowed me to separate the show and the books in my head, and its ended me seeking out the petty nit picking things that are ‘wrong’ with it. It feel liberating to be able to separate the 2 mediums if I am totally honest.

Lurid Jester
Voted a 9 because of all the reveals and craziness. Not a perfect episode though, since it was more like a very long montage than an actual episode. Nymeria's pack
8/10. Only thing that really brought it down was Arya/Walder Frey. It lacked any credibility and felt really flat even though I love Arya and have been waiting with psychotic eagerness for the death of Walder Frey. I'm even a fan of Frey pies in the books. I can't see Arya doing that at all. Killing yes, carving bodies and baking a pie? Absolutely not, even if logistically it made any sense which it doesn't. That's the negative but loved the rest (but I wish we could have had just a little glimpse of Ghost).
Mistress of Lemon Cakes
I gave it a 5 which is probably my highest ranking episode of the season, but ... I don't know. It was weird. There were some very, very strong sequences (the first King's Landing scene despite dragging for a bit and TOJ pt. 2) but there were some awful, awful scenes as well like the KitN moment feeling completely unearned, the disgusting misappropriation of Vengeance, Justice, Fire & Blood ... It's rather frustrating.

She isn't Queen of the North because she didn't take it when offered. She knew it was LF's plan . Also I'm watching the post credits as I type this. They were talking about how she didn't completely trust Jon. Not that she was unhappy when he was declared King. If Sansa didn't want him to be King, she would be Queen right now. I agree. What I got from that look between Sansa and LF was Sansa knowing that LF's eye (like Sauron's !) will now be on Jon and no-one else realises the danger that presents, as LF will seek to remove another player from the Game. She knows Jon is no match for LF's machinations, he's like a puppy in a room with a boa constrictor.

Meera of Tarth
I gave it a 7 (but it's more a 6.5). as I don't find the positive thread, I will post here the things I liked; BEST THINGS Cersei's story was amazing. It followed all the hints hidden in the previous episodes, and it was fantastic. The music, the dresses, everything. The outcome of it. The first time I recognise a little the Cersei from the books!!! Loved it! (the way I love a villain). At the same time I'm upset because I liked Margaery, for instance, and it's sad because Tommen and everyone died. 10/10 Sam's storyline. arriving at Oldtown. The special effects were amazing. The lighthouse and the the Citadel....shot in Beautiful Girona, the Maester.....I have no words. And finally THe Library!! I love libaries, and this library is better than the one I imagined he would find in the books. 10/10 King in The North scene. Mixed feelings. I liked Lyanna Mormont speech, and I liked how the Tower of Joy scene was linked to this one, 8/10 but missed they mentioned Bran 1/1 . Tower of Joy. Well-done. 7/10. The best thing was Lyanna, and the fact that Ned hears Bran in the Wind- . Adaptation of Dance Epilogue 7,5/10 Bonus: - Dany thinks she doesn't truly love Daario -Jaime looking at Cersei 7/10 BAD THINGS -There is no LSH. 0/10 -Dorne snakes. 1/10 -Varys teleportation (in the last scene....:OOOO) Good scene destroyed!!!! King in The North scene. Mixed feelings. I liked Lyanna Mormont speech, and I liked how the Tower of Joy scene was linked to this one, 8/10 but missed they mentioned Bran 1/10 Arya's storyline was awful 3/10 . Bran doesn't have a story on his own? . We didn't have a lot of Tyrion and he was not especially annoying. He bowed, that was good to see. 5/10 If there had been LSH+more Bran+Arya's storyline with more development I would have rated it 9/10, trying to be blind to the inconsistencies, Varys or Dorne. But Bran and Arya had a effect of -1 point and LSH -2 points being extremely generous. Edited July 3, 2016 by Meera of Tarth
Not a kneeler
I have watched this episode four times now and would like to change my vote from 9 to 10. Before I wasn't stirred by the KitN speech. I must have been groggy at the time. I don't see the flaws that others see, maybe because I have at last accepted that this is such a different medium than the books that holding them up in comparison to each other doesn't work. The time jumps are hard to deal with. I have to force myself to remember that this show does not necessarily run in a linear fashion. HallowedMarcus
I gave a 9. Cannogive it a 10 because I can't abide de Sand Snakes kinslaying change and the mega teleporter Varys. It was the best season finale so far with the end of season
