You have a good project (though I don't think the dragons will have riders) as I think it is good to have a list of people with targ blood.

That said, you have a good start to a list of notable characters. But Targaryen rule was for 300 years and there were a lot of them. Cousins, bastards, cadet branches. I would go as far as to say that almost every house of note and definitely every single great house has some Targaryen blood in it from some point between Aegon I and Aerys II. It may not have been the blood in the line of the king, but still the blood of old Valyria.

Thanks!

I'm sure most great houses have Targaryen, Velaryon, or Celtigar blood. I just want a list where it is explicitly stated that a specific character has some form of Valyrian ancestry.

Valyrian blood means nothing! You need targ blood to have a chance at ridding a dragon.

Not necessarily. There was a dragonrider who escaped the Doom of Valyria and took his dragon with him to Qohor. Who knows if he had any children? Who knows if he is or isn't the only dragonrider to escape the Doom not including the Targaryens? Who knows if any Dragonlord children happened to not be in Valyria when the Doom happened? A lot of this is unlikely, but all I'm trying to say is that people need to keep an open mind about who has the ability to ride a dragon.

Actually, I am just talking about Valyrian blood, not just Targaryen blood. The dragons were supposed to be a side not. Of course I don't think Shireen will end up riding Rhaegal or Viserion, yet I included her in my list. Yes I'm sure most of Essos and probably most of Westeros have Valyrian ancestry in some sense. However, I'm just trying to add characters where it is explicitly stated that they have Valyrian blood.

True. The Targs was the only family not the only dragonriders.

Many people can, apparently.

I'd bet that dragons are, in that regard, just like a pack of guard dogs. Imagine that one family had a monopoly on all guard dogs in the world. The dogs would obey and listen to them, and they would attack anyone else who tries to approach them. However, it would be false to claim that members of this family are the only ones with the ability to tame and raise dogs.

The same thing happened with dragons. No non-Targs were able to be dragonriders because Targs never allowed anyone non-Targ to even attempt to ride a dragon. As soon as they changed that policy, you got successful dragonriders Ulf, Hugh and Nettles.

Yes. I would preferred him to be a Frey instead of a Targ.

Yeah, I like Jon Snow a lot. However, I'm really not a fan of House Targaryen. My only exception is Rhaegar, it seems like he was a badass. He fucking played the harp, I mean come on. But otherwise I don't like the Targaryens. Actually, (last one :D) I like Egg (Aegon V Targaryen) he was hella nice. So I'm fine with Jon being Rhaegar's son.

Wut? He was a coward who played hide and seek instead of fighting in a war he created because he chose to elope with another woman when his wife almost died giving birth and he abandoned her and his two children and he died during his first and only battle.

Right, but people need to stop assuming that Ulf, Hugh, and Nettles are or aren't descended from the Targaryens. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it is never said who their parents are. Their parents could be Velaryons or Targaryens for all I know. They could also not be related to the Velaryons or Targaryens at all.

Something I just realized that I find interesting, is that there have been nineteen Targaryen dragonriders and six Velaryon dragonriders. There were three dragonseeds. But where the fuck are the Celtigars? Goddamn the Celtigars are so mysterious we barely know anything about them.

Before he was just an emo who was spending his time singing sad songs sitting in a ruined castle.

And come on, when you compare him to his father or his brother and sister, he was a saint.

He was as mad as they were. He just had a different kind of madness.

But he's (probably) your favorite character's father.
