Bad playoffs for Kessel, Brassard never showed up, Rust didn't score the clutch goals he has in the past and I think Sheary was a one season wonder from a couple back. I don't buy into the "Ovechkin deserves a Cup" line of thinking that I've seen bandied about online. He doesn't deserve a Cup anymore than any other player simply because he's an all time great. He's been a part of a very talented team year in and year out for the last ten years that consistently shit the bed in the playoffs, this year being an exception so far (just wait for it ). Being a playoff performer takes more than putting up individual points, it takes carrying your team through to victory. Until Ovi shows he can do that, he's not deserving of a Cup imo.
