Eventually there will be a big parade to thank Euron that he left Theon to drown instead of capturing and killing him, and so Theon could save the world.

Excellent point, absolutely excellent point, the mental gymnastics of the writers in the illogical department is breathtaking, why would Euron let someone like Theon escape? (he instigated a rebellion and he's the legitimate heir of the iron island)
