Too many off-screen deaths

Recommended Posts

- Mama Snake and Pretty Snake will slowly die off-screen

- Olenna dies off-screen

- Yara should be dead. Why is Euron keeping her alive?

- Greyworm hinted at off-screen death??

I really wanted all these characters to die this episode to move the plot forward! Don't waste more show-time with non sense, like the Snakes flirting and eunuch porn. :bang:

Off-screen deaths are allways underwelming, remmember the Blackfish? :tantrum:

This also leaves some people thinking they might be alive somehow, giving room to cackpot theories like they did with Stannis. <_<

the sand snakes are dead. Yes mama snake and her daughter are in a dungeon but they aren't getting out and one is pretty much dead given that she was given poison. I actually really liked that scene. It was brutal yet didn't do pointless torture scenes. Kinda like what  they did with cersei and the septa she hated. That scene given me more chills then all of ramsey and theons scenes. Olenna's death was a really good one I thought and very fitting with her chratacter. Yara is alive because euron wants to play with her and humiliate her.

I didn't get the greyworm hinted death. They are in a very bad situation but jaime's plan was essentially to strand them there and when they ran out of food have to leave their defensive position. It wasn't a hinted death scene.

I do agree that they didn't need that sex scene. They could have done a fade to black as they kissed instead of going through the whole scene. And that sand snake flirting scene was cheesy and kinda funny but wasn't really needed either. Still I did laugh at the "foreign invader" line. And who could have thought stannis lived? The wound he took in his leg was a death sentence since it seemed to imply it hit an artery. And then it ended with brienne swinging her sword. Thinking he is alive was ridiculous. I do agree about the blackfish. They could have just gone with jaime walking to see his body surrounded by three or four lannister corpses or something

Because of the whining of some over sensitive people about their little feelings get hurt when watching the deaths of fictional characters of screen that D&D stopped showing long death scenes and sticking only with quick death ones

I don't know ramsey's took a bit and shireen's did too (shudder). I am rarely a fan of long drawn out deaths because alot of times they are cheesy.

They really missed it to kill off Greyworm, are we to assume he's dead now? I didn't get that

I don't think so. I think the point of it was to show that the unsullied were essentially stuck in a castle with no food and when they left they would be forced to fight in an open battle. So if dany doesn't get to them they will die. Personally I wonder if jaime's charge with his lance that we saw in the promo's isn't him charging grey worm. Would be an awesome way to kill greyworm

Off-screen deaths are cheap though. Gotta save them dollars! I guess HBO execs have seen the writing on The Wall (pun intended) which is why seasons 7 and 8 are shorter, and will be the last. The show has been going downhill fast since they ran out of written material (held off on watching it for a long time and boy is it noticeable!), so it's no surprise that HBO is shutting it down as soon as possible and as cheaply as possible, while still providing an ending of sorts.

HBO is not shutting GoT down, it's still skyrocketing regardless of book fans opinions. The decision to not wrap it up in a ten-episode 7th season was made after they came off the book route, in order to stretch it and milk it till it's 100% drained.

Olenna didn't die off screen, her eyes were staring emptily into nothing as Jaime walks out. As for Ellaria, we might see her again and even if we don't, do we really need to waste screentime on watching Tyene rot? She is a completely marginal character and so is Ellaria to be honest.

Yara is a good question. There's absolutely no point in keeping her alive. I doubt that either Euron or Cersei would want to treat with Daenerys and use Yara's life as leverage. I suppose she is only alive so that Theon can try to save her and overcome his inner Reek by defeating Euron who is - for some weird reason - his proxy for Ramsay. (Now Euron is far from Ramsay imo, and Theon should have died along with Yara in the sea battle, but whatever)

Euron is a mind torturer, he would keep Yara only to lure Theon.

Does Theon have "it" to defeat someone like Euron?

I doubt they'd go that far.

He doesn't, and he never did, if you want my opinion.

Even pre-Ramsay Theon didn't have it in him to defeat Euron. Not in intelligence, not in physical strength.
