After tonight, it should be consensus that Tyrion no longer should be Dany's hand with the complaint at minimum, he can not be impartial and was a poor choice in the first place since it is his sibblings and his family that are the main villains South of the Wall and have been since this story/show began. Lannister dying was wonderful and a long time coming. Too bad, none of the main ones got it, yet that is.

yeah I love tyrion but from a practical standpoint and just common sense dany should not have put him in charge of her armies when she will be fighting his family. While I have no doubt he would not hesitate to kill his sister. jaime is another story entirely.

i find the Imp Sanctimonious, Obnoxious and in this case, completely in a huge conflict of interest regarding opposing his Brother and Sister who are lock step in line with each other regarding more than their incest crimes.

Well given that dany is a targ incest doesn't even register as a problem. That said I agree that while jaime may not have blown the sept he is still standing firmly behind her and now gets to see the consequences of going against a dragon with your secret weapon being a giant crossbow. Also I think tyrion needs to suck it up. He has seen people burned alive and was the one to order it. Dany has just destroyed a large part of the lannisters army and the tarly's as well and once word spreads of it everyone will bend the knee for fear of the dragons. Tyrions plan may have seemed more humane but he is prolonging the war and getting more people killed then neccesary. I think tyrion would make a good hand during peace time though.

Bronn knew they were done for even before he heard or saw the dragon.

Bronn said their gonna swamp us. I think he believed (understandably) that jaime can't fight like he used to and that it was gonna be a really bloody fight. You saw bron tell jaime you do it when jaime told him to use the scorpion. Bron is a sell sword and part of his story is he will go to the highest bidder and won't risk his life needlessly. When he saw the gold he had scattered he was pissed. Personally I think he intended to go with jaime when jaime fled.  I do think that bron is essentially gonna say f*** the lannisters because they promised him a castle and a higborn beauty and went back on their word and then have strung him along. He wants to settle down and we have heard him say that repeatedly and  yet he keeps getting dragged along in battles. When he served tyrion he got what he asked for and went against him when he was promised a castle. I see tyrion making him an offer and bron saying yes.

Lol. I wonder how they'll get those armours off underwater, not likely that they can swim wearing that.

actually bron wasn't wearing any armor throughout the entire battle. The guy is freaking loaded yet never wears armor. So in my opinion bron is gonna pull jaime from the river and give him to dany hoping for a reward since he realizes they can't win and he is not going against a dragon again.

The dragon looked fantastic and very realistic in combat.

Better than any film I have seen.

Honestly out of all the movies that I have seen where dragons are used this is the best. The CGI this episode was amazing and the way they used the dragons made sense in the beggining since she opened up a hole in the shield wall of the dothraki. Burning all the food wasn't bright though

Am I the only one that thinks that it was kinda stupid to burn down all the food? Drogon burns all the carts before he even concentrates in the infantry... uh, what? Why?

They specifically point out that the Lannisters were pillaging all the food they could from Highgarden and harvesting what was left, because WINTER IS ALREADY HERE and nobody has enough food. Why burn it all? Why not use it for YOUR troops?

Yeah I found the food burning kind of weird. May be we will get an explanation in the next episode. She did only burn a small part of the caravan, probably just to ensure she caused some confirmed damage first in case they had to withdraw.

Unlike the rest of the mad internet, Dany has always seemed cool-headed and calculated to me. She seems to always aim for the path with least casualties and collateral damage. If you have read Dany's PoV chapters in the book, you know this to be true. So I am sure there is some reasoning, otherwise the show would not specifically show the carts being burned.

The Dothraki were fabulous tonight!  I have always liked them but tonight gave me an even greater appreciation for them.  I love how they're loyal to their Khaleesi.

The actors were great on horseback.  This battle was perfect and the best one we have seen on the show.

Indeed. Huge props to the stunt guys working with those horses. Must have been a nightmare to shoot that stuff. The Dothraki were every bit as impressive as Drogon was in this battle. That's no small feat.

Destroying food supplies will help to starve out Kings Landing, but seizing them for one's own use would make better sense.

Still, it made for very good viewing.

I love that Dothraki telling Tyrion "your people can't fight".  That will put to rest any question of which people are better in battle.  The Dothraki will beat the Westerosi in open combat.  Bronn deserves to die for what he did, that bastard.  I hope he's dead.

That comment was rather unfair.

The Lannister soldiers fought well.  Without Drogon, they might well have held their own against the Dothraki.

Let's see how well the Dothraki would fare against dragonfire.

That Dothraki guy was an idiot. A Khalasar would do no better against Drogon than the Lannisters did. Hell, the Lannisters probably did better, because at least they wounded Drogon with the scorpion and put Daenerys within striking distance of being killed. If Drogon had been slightly less attentive at that moment then Daenerys would be dead and the war would be over.

Besides, what they fought wasn't the entirety of the Lannister army that marched against Highgarden. Just a part of the column escorting the grain (Which Daenerys should NOT have torched).

I loved it.  The Dothraki just mowed through the Lannisters.  I can't wait to see The Unsullied in action.  I want to see them form their square, lockstep formation against Dany's enemies.  I'm Dany's biggest fan.

After re-watching the episode, it looks like  the Lannisters were forming around a part of the caravan to protect it. Burning down what they were defending would definitely contribute to demoralizing them and putting them to flight. This might have been the purpose of burning the caravan. The caravan was stretching all the way across the Blackwater. So they will still be able to recover a lot of the supplies since they decimated the army.

And looking at the sequence of scenes, I am pretty sure this battleplan was not Dany's alone. Its something the whole team came up with. Tyrion was definitely involved. That is why he is present at the battlefield.
