Dany increased her hold on the continent.

Recommended Posts

Dany had the Reach, the West, Dorne, and Dragonstone before the episode.  She added the North as soon as Jon effectively knelt.

Dany's territories or holdings are Dorne, the Reach, Dragonstone, West and the North.  The Vale may need a little more convincing.  Maybe take Robyn for a ride on a dragon would help.  The episode 7 preview shows the arrival of the Iron Fleet.  This is a good time to set those ships ablaze and get rid of Euron for good.  In less than a few minutes those ships can be eliminated.

Cersei is in a tough spot but that old broad will do something crazy.  Dany just needs to finish her off and get on with saving the realm from the white walkers.

Cersei's holdings are the Stormlands and the River lands.  She also holds the capital.

What show are you watching? The Reach is out of the fight. Dorne is out of the fight. The West is controlled by the Lannisters, except for a castle emptied of provisions and surrounded by Lannisters.

Do you think killing Tarly magically brought Olenna back to life, with her 70K potential soldiers, and returned all the food Dany just burnt to the Highgarden stores, and restored all the gold that had already been loaded into the King's Landing gates?

Dany has Dragonstone, an island with an empty castle and apparently no fields, no smallfolk, nothing but a dragonglass mine being run by her Dothraki. That's it.

Adding the North is nice, but it doesn't hurt Cersei much, because the North was already in rebellion against her. Plus, they already have pretty minimal forces, and those forces are all tied up in the defense against the Night King.

She might have some of them in name, but not in theory. Dorne is out, the Reach is out, Casterely Rock is surrounded and empty other than her soldiers.

She has the North (though I'm not currently sure how the Northern Lords will react to this) and she probably will get the Vale (now we NEED Dany taking Robyn on a Dragon YES), but the other places are kinda out for the count.

Granted, she does have 2 dragons. That makes up for it, a bit.

In other news I got really sad when I realized I had to type 2 instead of 3.

Yes, basically the Lannisters are confined to the vicinity of King's Landing.  They actually lost the Riverlands when the Freys died.  The Unsullied and the Dothraki can travel where they please at this point.

I imagine any food coming to King's Landing will have to come in through Euron.  The lions lost the Reach when Dany and her Dothraki trounced Jaime, Randyll, and Dickon.

Jon bent the knee and acknowledged Dany's right to rule over him as his queen.  So yeah, the north is in the Dany Camp now.

We don't hear anything about the Stormlands on this show.

They can't attack Euron's fleet because Daenerys called an armistace.  If she attacks the fleet before going to King's Landing, then no one would ever trust her word again and all her supporters would probably abandon her.  If she attacks once she is in King's Landing, then she's as good as dead.

Same episode Glover and Royce say that maybe they should have chosen Sansa. Are you missing that whole plot in the North about how Jon is MIA, the Lords are angry, Sansa is holding down the fort? Did you miss episode one where Royce said never to trust a Targ and Glover said Jon went south and lost his kingdom. You don't think any of that is going to factor in? You think Jon will turn up, say he's ceded the Kingdom to a Targaryen after being silent and way for weeks and the Lords will just accept it?

Nobody said they have to like it.  But their leader bent the knee and that is binding.  Sansa will bitch about it for sure but she will have a change of heart as soon as the wights come to ring the bell to Winterfell's gates.

Nobody said they have to like it and nobody said they have to accept it. They are in open rebellion already. Even worse when they start asking how did the Night King get a dragon! The threat just levelled up because of Jon and Dany.

It was a big mistake to go north for a wight.  That was a collective decision and it ended badly.  But if Sansa, Lyanna Mormont and that group refuse to accept then they're as good as dead.  And they will have deserved it.

It exposes Dany as an empty threat though. Her biggest guns were her three dragons. The Night King took out one with one spear. Dany cannot wait for the Night King to wipe out the North and come to her. She needs them as much as they need her. She knows nothing about the threat which is Bran's main purpose. We need to get past this era of thinking Dany's forces are the envy of the world. They are now meaningless. You could argue an assassin who can get close to the Night King is of more value because if he goes, the army largely does too and the dragon. It sets up Dany's role to unseat the Night King from Viserion.

The North has hella leverage. She can't turn around or play the Fire and Blood card anymore. The stakes are too high and she in part made them higher.

I hear ya, humans are born everyday, but dragons.....Dany isn't getting any more than she has.  Worst of all, she may someday see her own "child" fighting against her. That was the toughest thing to watch in that episode.
