Full list of Season 7 Histories & Lore revealed:

Much like Season 5's "Dance of the Dragons" video, Season 7 will have a 43 minute long video on the Targaryen Conquest, and presumably the First Dornish War after that, called "Conquest & Rebellion". Unlike the Dance, it is divided into internal chapters. The first was released for free: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uc32z-wgxU4

Narrators include: Viserys III Targaryen, Euron Greyjoy , Jaime Lannister , Littlefinger & Varys , Sansa Stark

As for the rest, they originally said we'd get only seven, but the full list includes eight. Combined runtime of 27 minutes (so we get 1 hour and 10 minutes of content overall this year). They include:

  • The Dragonpit - 3:08
  • The Citadel - 2:32
  • Prophecies of the Known World - 4:08
  • Highgarden - 3:24
  • Casterly Rock - 1:20
  • The Rains of Castamere - 5:40 (probably on the Reyne Rebellion)
  • The Golden Company - 2:55
  • The Hand of the King - 4:01

Narrators currently unknown.

(Crud, no Naath or House Mormont videos)

I suspect that "The Rains of Castamere" is a backdoor pilot/prequel hook of sorts (much like the Season 5 Dance of the Dragons special or this year's Targaryen Conquest) for a one-year long, one-shot "Young Tywin" prequel miniseries - based on the sample chapter Martin posted for free on his website: http://www.georgerrmartin.com/world-of-ice-and-fire-sample/

The sample chapter on "The Westerlands" on GRRM's website is not only free, but actually slightly longer than the version appearing in "The World of Ice and Fire" sourcebook.

Martin explained that he actually knew the story of Tywin's backstory in it years ago, i.e. when he wrote the first books in the 1990's, he just never had a chance in the main novels to drop the narrative for a full chapter or so to explain "this is the full history of the Reyne Rebellion". And indeed, when you read the sample, you realize "this could be a TV story". The feud between the Lannisters and Reynes, the "War of the Wombs" between Tywin's mother Jeyne Marbrand and Ellyn Reyne-Tarbeck.
