Well, technically sansa didn't beat LF, bran did. And I also don't see what LF achieved in the last 3 seasons that required him to be kept alive.

But what ever. D&D will have their "reasons" and we will know in 2019.

What has varys done? nothing...

But they are big names...

I think book sansa would be a good help to manage the logistics and political aspirations of the vassals of lord. But the show simply doesn t care about those things...

And you are absolutly right about D&D. I can t even imagine how they will manage with so many characters in winterfell. They have to kill a lot of them lol

In the books, Jon has already made a point that the only granaries in Westeros that are still full are those of Arryns and that he would ask Lysa for help. And in TWOW

Spoiler

The same point has been made with LF keeping the grain stored and not sold.

Which means that if LF falls, Sansa and Vale lords will be able to help Jon.

As for D&D, just look how they handled THE MOST IMPORTANT meeting in the series. I can only expect someone to be utterly idiotic. Who will be that remains to be seen.

Looking back at season 7, I think tyrion is the most likely candidate. He seems to get used to this role lately.

And it makes perfect sense that sansa will be very interested in helping the north, winterfell and her familly (whoever might be asking for the vale's help) instead of looking to profit with the grain.

Spoiler

And with her recente experience as a bastard it would even make sense if it is jon

Without thinking too much, given that travel time doesn t exist in the show why didn t they send sansa to the vale after her meeting with jon?

They could have concluded that they didn t have enough northmen to defeat the boltons and that they would need food. Then sansa could say that the lords of the vale ofered her help in the past and she should go with brienne there to ask for their grain and armies... They could go to eastwatch and go to the vale by boat... Then we could have the continuation of sansa's story from the books...

This could have actually worked. Instead of sending Brienne to Blackfish (to no result), Jon could have made Brienne escort Sansa back to Vale, just in case. Then, if Sansa would return with the army, like she did, her Gandalfian moment would make much more sense.

Agreed on the point of the granaries.

What is, in this context, considered to be the most important meeting in the series?

But that would have meant that Sansa would need to get her own supporting cast in the Vale, so she can have an arc there (much like in the books, where Sansa is learning the ropes). And D&D have been wanting to diminish the number of characters/actors, since S4 IIRC. Allthough I regret that Sansa's Vale storyline was mostly dumped (I suspect LF's death is a leftover from that storyline), it may not have been the wrong decision considering how GRRM's ever widening focus is working out for him in the books.

Well, I think they could have done something with Royce and Waynwood, whom they have already had. Something could have been done and there are many different routes in which Sansa's Vale story could have been done properly.

As for Jon and Dany: I don't think that meeting was done that badly. I think it's correct that they would't be best friends at first sight, and the evolution over the course of the season seemed OK to me. Supersonic messengers and dragons aside, I could believe it when he decided to accept her as queen.

As for Sansa, they could have done a lot better with her in Winterfell, especially last season with LF and Arya. While I think her part in the last episode was thrilling, much was sacrificed in the earlier episodes in order to trick the audience into thinking she could actually kill Arya (not too many people were fooled, I think).

The problem is that they put sansa in the north storyline without any story of her own after being rescued by theon. Sansa dealing with armies and military strategies doesn t make sense.

She basically became a intruder in other characters stories and it harmed the story. It would be much better if they got a small cast of vale characters that would give sansa her own story. And between having Harry the heir and LF trying to kill sweetrobin  or LF trying to take advantage of the situation through using the lords of vale there are stories where sansa could shine...

I don't think she "intruded" the other people's storyline, as much as I think the entire thing gloriously failed. I think she could have shone even in the Winterfell arc, with the right writing. The entire fiasco of her acceptance of marrying Ramsay put aside, a point could have been made about her strength and intelligence without well, raping her. As I said, Jon sending her to Vale and she coming back with the army would have been much more elegant solution and in the process she could have dealt with LF (alongside Royce).

There is such richness of themes in Sansa's arc that I am truly fascinated by the writer's inability to use them.

It's on: a fan in Dubrovnik on their Instagram stories showed an autograph from today from Kit...AND ISAAC. Whaaaaaaat? The rumours were right.

The Mountain's actor's latest Instagram photo shows that he's in Dubrovnik.

So is there one scene with the Mountain, Jon and Bran, or multiple scenes?

The Mountain appears in Bran's coma dream in agot. Jaime, Sandor and The Mountain, but maybe Bran is there on a vision or on a diplomatic visit to KL with Jon, and the Mountain appears in other scenes.

Or Jon+Bran go to talk with Cersei and the Mountain is there with Cersei.

From episode 4 most likely. Picture of Nutter showed up.

Yes, here.

I'm wondering if the autographs were a hoax and Isaac isn't there after all. Looks like only Jon, Cersei and Cersei's entourage are involved in the scene.

Biggest question (assuming no Bran): why is Jon there by himself? Unless of course the rest of his crew is there but Cersei demands to meet with Jon alone.

D&D alluded to writing a meaty Kit/Lena scene for S8 in the S7 DVD commentaries, so I guess this is it. Should be fun.

Would be interesting if Bran was his bodyguard and wargs her Queensguard to show his power.
