Stormking902
Anytime you remotely talk about the slow pace of GRRM writing the topic is instantly locked by moderators, we as fans have the right to be upset at the pace of his writing at the very least we should be able to talk about it without fearing getting your account suspended. I have spent a great amount of time and money on Asoiaf and should be able to have an opinion. This is a free country act like it. I have seen topics locked and noone even bashing GRRM in the least just literally saying they might stop reading and take the show as cannon, why is this a lockable offence? Deepbollywood Motte
This is not a country but the internet. This website is like someones house... Their site, their rules. More to the topic. Complaining abou the pace doesn't lead to anything. This forum is for discussing the books, not much else.
LynnS
Probably because the threads deteriorate into a slagfest at some point. This might be a free country, but the forum isn't the property of it's members. We're guests in somebody else's house.
mormont
Because this is a moderated message board. Every user signs up to the terms and conditions voluntarily when they join. Those include the fact that the moderators might remove certain posts, close topics, or ask you not to discuss certain topics, in the interests of the smooth running of the forum. This isn't a big mystery. It's internet 101. ps 'This' isn't 'a country' at all. It's a message board published in scores of countries. Also, you have a perfect right to an opinion, you just don't necessarily have the right to insist that it is published on this forum. You haven't paid anything to have an account here, and how much you've spent on GRRM's books is not relevant. Finally, if you or anyone else want to ask questions about or discuss the moderation of the site do it privately by contacting the moderators.
