Fragile Bird
You know you are getting old when you don't know who half the presenters are. Who TF are these people? I thought they were supposed to be famous?
Fragile Bird
OOOOOOOh! I drove past the Palais Royale on Lakeshore Drive in Toronto and wondered what the heck the event was! eta: party for The Shape of Water crew, obviously!

Well, there was a lot of controversy with presenters for Best Actress, as Casey Affleck decided to withdraw from ceremony due to the current climate in Hollywood. But, if interested... Funny thing is, the first half hour or so of the movie i was thinking man he sucks. As the movie went on I realized, no he didn't suck, he just played it so well that it confused me. Fragile Bird
Ok, so I exaggerated, I know more than half the presenters. Also, if you haven't noticed, I have always adored Sufjan Stevens and I brief piece of one of his songs is in my signature line.
dbunting
So Kobe Bryant won an Oscar. That's crazy, to be able to be recognized for contributing to something entirely different from another the other job he was world class at. A few other thoughts, he mentioned the "shut up and dribble" line recently but strangely enough not the "me too" movement, I wonder why.

Fragile Bird
Wow, that must be a helluva party at the Palais Royale now! But it's rare they give Best Director and Best Movie to the same film, right? I wonder who the winner will be.

DMC
Almost entirely forgot the Oscars were tonight. Looks like everything went as expected. Only thing I'm disappointed about - and while I haven't seen it I'm happy for Del Toro - is Nolan missing out on Best Director. I think this was his best shot, and I doubt he'll make a movie more palatable to the academy. Oh well.
DireWolfSpirit
I am happy for Jordan Peele's accomplishment, dude is smart and a versatile, tireless worker,. Like seeing that rewarded. Also nice seeing Gary Oldham win after so many past great performances. Its amazing to me that Drexl from True Romance, the Commish from Batman and Winston Churchill are all the same actor!!!!! Drexl (graphic language/content warning) ^^^^That guy doing a dead on Churchill....he earned that statue imo.
