Maybe it's the opposite? - If Rhaego is alive, and he was kidnapped by Dothraki, then he could be in Jhago's khalasar. And thus Drogon made his lair near that settlement, because he is attracted there by Rhaego's dragonblood. Same as he was attracted to blood of Ben Plumm. Though Rhaego's dragon blood is much purer, thus it's even more alluring for dragons.

Dothraki are nomad, you' know. Jaqho hasn't built any settlement nearby and unlikely been there for too long

Drogo, Mirri and Rhaego were necessary.

You're counting wrong. Rhaego wasn't even in that fire, which Dany lighted for life (first out of three fires, from the Undying prophecies).

Lives of three dragons, that hatched on Drogo's funeral pyre, in exchange of three lives, that were burned in that pyre - the stallion, Mirri, Drogo.

The stallion wasn't a sacrifice, it did cost nothing. That's why not everyone agrees that the life of Mirri passed to the dragons and instead many insist that Viserys life was also necessary. The eggs needed to be "fertilized". Of course it is possible that Mirri's death was also necessary to the last kick.

What do you mean - it costed nothing? Its life was taken away. I think that, that horse wouldn't have agreed with you, that his death was meaningless.

They were fertilized by Dany, when she took them to her bed, and when she put them into burning blazier. This:

Quote

Irri fetched the egg with the deep green shell, bronze flecks shining amid its scales as she turned it in her small hands. Dany curled up on her side, pulling the sandsilk cloak across her and cradling the egg in the hollow between her swollen belly and small, tender breasts. She liked to hold them. They were so beautiful, and sometimes just being close to them made her feel stronger, braver, as if somehow she were drawing strength from the stone dragons locked inside.

She was lying there, holding the egg, when she felt the child move within her…as if he were reaching out, brother to brother, blood to blood. “You are the dragon,” Dany whispered to him, “the true dragon. I know it. I know it.”

Quote

When she woke the third time, a shaft of golden sunlight was pouring through the smoke hole of the tent, and her arms were wrapped around a dragon’s egg. It was the pale one, its scales the color of butter cream, veined with whorls of gold and bronze, and Dany could feel the heat of it. Beneath her bedsilks, a fine sheen of perspiration covered her bare skin. Dragondew, she thought. Her fingers trailed lightly across the surface of the shell, tracing the wisps of gold, and deep in the stone she felt something twist and stretch in response. It did not frighten her. All her fear was gone, burned away.

They were there for some time. Because Drogon, when he lived on top of that hill, was eating their horses, and their other livestock.

Quote

There, amidst broken boulders, razor-sharp ridges, and needle spires, Drogon made his lair inside a shallow cave. He had dwelt there for some time, Dany had realized when she first saw the hill. The air smelled of ash, every rock and tree in sight was scorched and blackened, the ground strewn with burned and broken bones, yet it had been home to him.

In a dozen heartbeats they were past the Dothraki, as he galloped far below. To the right and left, Dany glimpsed places where the grass was burned and ashen. Drogon has come this way before, she realized. Like a chain of grey islands, the marks of his hunting dotted the green grass sea.

A vast herd of horses appeared below them. There were riders too, a score or more, but they turned and fled at the first sight of the dragon.

They have seen him before, many times, they knew what he was. He ate horses from their herd. So either current camp of Jhago's khalasar is nearby that hill, or that hill is not far from Vaes Dothrak.

Also nomads don't move all the time. They find good place, with water and feed for their livestoke, and game to hunt, and they settle there with their tents for a few months, or even longer, until there will be no more grass for their horses to eat, and no more game for them to hunt. Also even nomadic tribes do have vilages and settlements, places where they live during winter, or where there is a market for many various tribes to trade.
