As is “Real Madrid well outplayed but get through to the final by virtue of a goalkeeping error” and “Real Madrid well outplayed but get through to the final by virtue of Bayern’s poor finishing.” Things have multiple causes, mentioning only one does not constitute a denial of the others. Besides that, I wouldn't even consider the Marcelo handball to be a howler - no deliberate movement of hand to ball, hand not in an unnatural position and proximity.
