That said, I’m sure talking about Crazy Eyes Jim opens up old wounds for you, so we can drop the subject.

Meh, while one can't deny his success, I was never a fan of him personally.  When he was coaching the Niners I always said if that dude was coaching another team I would hate him.  So, now I'm free to.  Plus, happy where they're at, just took a few years of pain (which probably would have happened anyway even if he stayed due to all the personnel turnover).

I can't find anything on Mike D. Rogers though.

I highly doubt it was Rogers given his personality.  Based on the interview, one variable I'd use to narrow it down if at all possible is which members are especially known for hitting the sauce.

Agreed. I also tried looking up members known for swearing or not, but couldn't find anything.

Another is living situation while in session. It's someone who needed to buy groceries while at a DC/Arlington Safeway, so it's not someone pulling a Biden and traveling far home each night. Wilson represents South Carolina, while Burgess and McCaul are Texas, but I'm not stalker-ish to be able to find out what their situation while in DC is.

On the contrary, I think this is really all an excuse to privatize the Post Office.

I do not believe that the executive branch has the power to do this sua sponte.  Establishing and maintaining a postal system is an enumerated power granted to Congress.

Yeah, he’s a classic “love him when he’s on my team, hate him on any other team” guy. That said, the turnover largely happened because he got canned.

But it matters not now that you get to stare into the eyes of Handsome Jimmy G, the most beautiful man to have ever lived!

Interesting. It likely won't get very far then. I still think that is the recommendation that is coming. Much if what comes out of this Admin seems written up in Koch brothers think tanks.

Mnuchin is in charge of it as well. If he does anything to Amazon it will be cutting their regulations or fetching their coffee.

I LOVE Harbaugh. What a character. And he fucking hates Trump, so that alone makes him a cut above most annoying white guys in the NFL or College.

I just Googled his name and the top two stories are about him saying in private that he’s expecting to be fired sooner than later. There’s no way that meeting yesterday went well given Trump’s complete inability to control himself. I’m guess that, combined with the Comey book excerpts that have been reported, have accelerated Rosenstein’s demise.

Why? Do you trust Congress to do anything? This would be his only route if Republicans are signaling that they’ll fail to act, which they are currently doing.

The subpoena isn't necessary because Mueller almost certainly has already made up his mind on at least the obstruction charge.  Mueller doesn't need anything from Trump to make his case.  Not having testimony from the subject of an investigation isn't an usual circumstance for a prosecutor.  Criminals will often plead the fifth.  Having Trump testify would be nice, but it's not necessary.

If Congress refuses to act, the subpoena isn't going to accomplish anything.  Mueller really only has two choices.  He can pass along his recommendations to Congress and hope Congress impeaches and removes Trump, assuming that's his recommendation in his report, and/or he can attempt to indict and prosecute Trump at trial.

Another hush money agreement from Cohen, this time 1.6 million to a pregnant porn star for an RNC donor in California during the campaign.

The donor has already admitted to it on twitter, although he suggests he paid the woman 1.6 million to help her get through the difficult time after she chose to have an abortion.

I was going to make a long and exciting explanation that the Trumpets believe that what a rich person does with their money is between Ayn Rand and their victim.

But then I remembered Trumpets can't read.

I agree that Mueller probably has enough to charge Trump with obstruction. That won’t be enough to move Republicans though. I’m guessing Mueller stumbled across a whole host of other illegal activities, but he needs Trump’s testimony to confirm some of it. That’s why he wanted him to sit down. But now that everything is speeding up with Trump trying to shut down the investigation, so they’re going with what they got. I expect the next few weeks to be incredible tense.

My prediction for the next popular phrase you will hear from Trump supporters:

”Everyone has the right to use the 5th Amendment”.

Michael Cohen is under criminal investigation for conduct in business dealings. Sayeth the US Attorney’s office in response to Cohen’s attempt to block the government’s examination of his records.

Also, per Bloomberg...

And a New York Grand Jury probe is something Trump can't do anything about.

Also, I'm still uncertain whether Rosenstein is actually going to get fired today or if there's just a lot of speculation over nothing. By itself, firing Rosenstein does nothing; he is the DAG, but whoever gets named acting DAG has no authority over Mueller until they get confirmed by the senate. Rosenstein's authority over Mueller comes from being the acting AG on this matter (since Sessions is recused), and the acting DAG can't be the acting AG (no double acting is allowed). So the question becomes is the next in line to be acting AG (the SG since the AAG position is vacant) a Trump stooge? I don't know enough about SG Noel Francisco to say.

All we know is that last month Sessions, Rosenstein, and Francisco went out to dinner together; but that could literally mean nothing.

ETA:

Could be that the news today will be that Rosenstein is also recusing himself now; which would mean Francisco is now in charge of Mueller anyway.
