Right?

Plus it's possibly Blaszczykowski's last hurrah and, hopefully, Zielinski's coming-out party.

Bonus points awarded for correct spelling of all Polish players names :D

Looks like Dani Alves will miss the World Cup. It will be interesting to see who takes his place - Fagner from Corinthians has been in the squad a lot as backup but will he really be trusted enough to start? Beyond that there is Rafinha, Danilo and Bruno Peres none of whom are first choice at club level and have spent a good time on the left between them this season. Perhaps Fabinho might return to RB. He really should be in the side as a central midfielder, but better there than nowhere.

Meanwhile the Neuer saga in Germany continues.

Looks like the only competitive game for his club in 2018 will be the German Cup final, and that's not guaranteed. Neuer himself has said he doesn't think he should be called up for the WC without match practice.

Also quite a few hopefuls had to end their bid for a call up. Stindl (who rumoredly was for some reason a sure part of the German team) suffered a season ending injury, Gnabry is also out. Boateng is also injured, but he will get called up regardless.

Also manager appointment rumours are interesting. One rumour has it that saving Huddersfield from relegation this year was Wagner's farewell gift, his new club is supposedly Leicester.

Frankfurt's search for successor for Kovac is also interesting. The first name that popped up was Bilic, their new target appears to be Farke.

Would be funny if Romas designated scapegoat went to the wc, Peres has been pretty shit though, basically unable to make the right decision even if it was staring at a barn.

That's a shame. I thought he was a really good player at Torino. Being uncapped he will be the least likely to get the spot, even if in good form, though on his day the best like for like replacement. A more conservative right-back might do them good with Marcelo on the other side.

It should be too late for Neuer now - especially with a player of ter Stegen's calibre ready to step in. More of a worry would be who Löw calls up for the second and third spots if he gets injured/suspended too. I'd rather a one-legged Neuer than Kevin Trapp.

Time for Wagner to move on. He has done such a brilliant job with Huddersfield that the only way is down now if he stays. I would be surprised if he is not on Frankfurt's radar if the deal is not finalised with Leicester.

Bilic would be a very odd appointment - as if they thought Kovac worked well so they'd just look at other former Croatia managers. This would be too soon for Farke. He has done a decent job at refreshing an ageing Norwich side, but the results on the field have yet to come. Next season, when they are without parachute payments and his side have more experience will be the real test. I'd look at Hütter, who won the title at Young Boys, and Buvac - who they've supposedly interviewed first.

Fagner is not good enough to be at this level, IMO, Tite had been calling him because he knows him well, but he hasn't earned them. Plus, there's a chance he'll also miss the tournament due to injuries.

Danilo will probably be called, and he played well in the couple of games he did for Brazil. The other spot will probably go to Fagner, if he's available.

Well, relatively speaking yes, they took it well. On the other hand, it's Port Annivesary, a rumour was that a bunch of them will gear up and head to the Jolly Roger stage. So if true, that's where the action will be.

Unfortunately for them Slime played yesterday. A bit disappointed The Wakes are not performing there this year. :/

In other non-news.

Stöger confirmed that he is leaving Dortmud, he managed to get them into CL, which was the job describtion. (Unconfirmed as of now, but still) Favre will take over.

Hmm...Martial not even in the squad. Looks more and more likely that he will be off in the next transfer window. Mourinho doesn't seem to fancy him at all, first wanting to bring in Perisic and them promptly dropping Martial during his best form of the season in favour of Sanchez who has mostly been shit.
