Russia respect privacy and independence of all visiting World Cup Nations. Only rigging Putin does is in sailboat. Whether a given team Leaves or Remains is entirely up to them. Russia is undeniably a Great Power, for its nuclear arsenal, its military power, its ability to project force, its UN Security Council seat, its ability to exert diplomatic pressure on non-Great Power states and its economic sway through the use of pipelines and oil and gas embargoes. I look forward to seeing them clash with the likes of Brazil, France and Spain (assuming they’re able to advance, as well) And yeah - I’m aware Argentina are all but gone already.
