Trump is appointing hyper-partisan conservative extremist Brett Kavanaugh to the supreme court. There will probably be a half dozen cowardly democrat senators who inanely vote for his confirmation, giving the media that puce veneer of bipartisanship narratives.

but hey, if you click the link, you'll see a picture of quite lovely family.  He's got two daughters. I'm sure that means he won't make abortion "illegal-illegal" afterall,  (pompous voice) "as the father of daughters...", but who are we kidding, no matter what the law of the land is, for rich, white, connected upper caste elites like themselves, abortion will never be inaccessible nor illegal, it will only be illegal for people that are other.

Which is what matters.

How Brett Kavanaugh Will Gut Roe v. Wade

Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee has shown us precisely how he’ll do it.

Quote

And that is how the Supreme Court will, in all probability, kill off Roe. A conservative state will pass a draconian anti-abortion restriction—one that shutters all abortion clinics, perhaps, or outlaws abortion after a fetal “heartbeat” is detected. With Kavanaugh providing the decisive fifth vote, the court will rule that the state law does not pose an “undue burden” to abortion access; after all, the government has an interest in “favoring fetal life,” and women who truly want an abortion can go to another state. The majority may not admit what it is doing. But in practice, it will be overturning Roe.

Today in manufactured outrage from the left:

The Womens March is opposed to the Supreme Court Nominee Dos Equis.

Good to see non partisan everyone giving the Supreme Court nominee a fair chance.

This is such a pathetic and whiny argument - same thing with crying about Nightline's tweet yesterday.  It's been widely reported since Friday the final four candidates.  ABC knows any of them would be controversial, the Women's March knows any of them are an existential threat to their reproductive rights, and the Judicial Crisis Network knew it was going to commit $10 million to get any of the four confirmed.  If the JCN can be enthusiastic about "Dos Equis," why exactly shouldn't the Women's march be terrified of ______?

Good one. You really caught the libruls this time, and can be happy that you've proved, however tenuously, that there is someone out there dumber than you.

To be fair, if none of the Republican senators flip, you might as well let them vote for the nominee, not that it will do that much good for them back home.

Grrrrr, more manufactured outrage

How is it manufactured outrage when all three of them are young, further right than almost everyone on the court and have a documented history of being against the fundamental issues that Democrats believe in? Gone are the days when you needed to nominate a more moderate judge to get 60 votes in the Senate. Now it's all about young, hyper partisan judges who can be passed with 51 votes.

It's amazing how pathetic right wingers are.

After taking a look through some of the twitted responses -- yup, @Frog Eater, those are your people. Enjoy the stimulating conversation among troglodytes.

You keep saying that phrase "manufactured outrage.". I do not think it means what you think it means.

It means you are being led by the nose to oppose a Supreme Court justice who will do what he is supposed to do: interpret the law within the confines of the constitution of the United States.

That article does a great job of explaining why liberals should oppose Kavanaugh as much as possible. What are you trying to say??

That conservative reading of the constitution and the law is the only way to read the law and Dems should perfectly fine when they lose their rights (socially, economically, privately). Obviously.

Clearly, what Frog Eater is saying is that the reasonable response is to do what Republicans did last time there was a Supreme Court vacancy, which was to carefully consider the merits of each candidate purely on the basis of their eminent legal scholarship before wait, I think I have this wrong.
