(spoilers AGOT) Why do we think that Ned is honorable when he is clearly not?

That was Lysa, not Catelyn. Lysa allowed herself to be manipulated by Tyrion into allowing him to demand a trial and then trial by combat, infront of the court. Then Tyrion won, and Lysa had no choice but to free him. Catelyn was against the whole thing. 

Also, it didn't seal Ned's fate... He was going to be sent to the Wall before Joffrey decided to make him a head shorter. Joffrey sealed Ned's fate.

Well, I can't force you to like their plot lines but I found them interesting.  They are both in training:  Arya to become an assassin and Sansa to play the Game of Thrones.  It is one of the challenges of reading a big story that involves waiting 5 -10 years between installments because only GRRM knows where this is all going.  Or at least the big stuff but, you know, he is constantly planting seeds and cultivating and weeding and nurturing so I'm sure by the time A Promise of Spring is published all of the major characters will experience things that even he hasn't thought of yet. 

Also goes for Lady Stoneheart. Don’t really see her purpose either.
