Westeros M2:TW mod- Alpha Map

The generals system is flawed, after some 20 turns there are usually no more 'generals' left, every one got adopted and became family members. Even if you choose not to adopt they can't get married so no heirs and their bloodlines will eventually die out. So we'll have to adopt Dacey under maybe Bran, or after some years there won't be anymore Mormonts. Strange system on CA's part(again) and I'm guessing it's hardcoded...(speaking of Dacey, I think she's a general with a femail trait? likewise with Brienne..)

—DAGMER called CLEFTJAW, captain of Foamdrinker

—GERMUND BOTLEY, made Lord of Lordsport

—WALDON WYNCH, Lord of Iron Holt,

—RODRIK HARLAW, THE READER

—BOREMUND HARLAW, called BOREMUND THE BLUE,

—RALF KENNING

—BAELOR BLACKTYDE, Lord of Blacktyde, captain of the Nightflyer,

—DUNSTAN DRUMM, The Drumm, captain of Thunderer,

—ANDRIK THE UNSMILING, a giant of a man,

—GOROLD GOODBROTHER, Lord of the Hammerhorn,

—THE SPARR,

—MELDRED MERLYN, Lord of Pebbleton,

—LORD ORKWOOD OF ORKMONT,

—LORD DONNOR SALTCLIFFE,

—GYLBERT FARWYND, Lord of the Lonely Light,

Here's what I got from the appendix in AFoC. Sawane Botley and his son were both dead at that time and replaced by Germund, and I took out some of the younger heirs. I'm considering one of Victarion's champions and the old Kingsmoot contender:

—ERIK IRONMAKER, called ERIK ANVIL-BREAKER and ERIK THE JUST,

—Victarion’s champions: RED RALF STONEHOUSE, RALF THE LIMPER, and NUTE THE BARBER

What priest effect for generals? And we're going to turn adoption off, I believe so that won't be a problem. The mod will only span maybe fifty years at most, so I dont think we need to concern ourselves about bloodlines dying out, unless you get them all killed in battle....

Yep, quite well. The problem I was having was I used an RGB value of 0,0,0 for the lowest elevation in heights, and apparently that causes the error. It wasn't stated in most of the documentation I read, and apparently no one thought to suggest it until then. But I think the person that mentioned it actually registered to TWCenter just to tell me (it was their first post). I thanked them profusely of course :D

There was a debate on the religious system we want to use some pages back. Since it wasn't tested then I guess we're sticking with the old priest agents?

You can use the blood, broads and bastard mods effect, where they use hereditary traits to determine bloodlines. That way, you can have a dead faction leader or something, and lots of "heirs".For example, Lord Eddard dead, with Greatjon Umber, Lady Mormont, Robb Stark, Bran Stark, Rickon Stark, Roose Bolton etc. all as heirs, but only the Starks have the Stark bloodline, while all the rest have Umber, Mormont, Bolton etc.

Check it out on TWCenter.

A BBB loyalist myself, I'd really love it if the team would adopt it. That said I think I'll content myself with the basic faction bloodlines, there's like a hundred minor houses in ASOIF and believe me the triggers are numerous for these things.

The way things are going seems most of the modders are waiting for the next patch which will hopefully enable some malfunctioning triggers and some bugs.

Okay... bad stretch at work... now I've got a bit more time, so here goes:

Ser Janos Slynt - Commander of the Gold Cloaks (early)

Ser Jacelyn Bywater - Commander of the Gold Cloaks (later on)

Ser Osmund Kettleblack

Ser Osfryd Kettleblack

Ser Oswell Kettleblack

Ser Aron Santagar - Master-At-Arms of the Red Keep

Lord Gyles Rosby of Rosby

Lord Commander Barristan Selmy of the Kingsguard

Ser Jaime Lannister of the Kingsguard

Ser Boros Blount of the Kingsguard

Ser Arys Oakheart of the Kingsguard

Ser Preston Greenfield of the Kingsguard

Ser Mandon Moore of the Kingsguard

Ser Meryn Trant of the Kingsguard

There aren't many House lords who would function as generals here... so I include members of the Kingsguard, who lead armies in battle for the Crown. I'm split on whether to include the Hound... but I'm leaning towards non-inclusion. He's a soldier and personal bodyguard, *not* a leader or commander. Perhaps he'd function better as a retinue member. Gyles Rosby would likely make a worthless battle commander, but would perhaps have traits making him more of an economic/governor leader.

Ser Ryon Allyrion of Godsgrace

Daemon Sand, the Bastard of Godsgrace

Lady Larra Blackmont

Jynessa Blackmont

Ser Deziel Dalt of Lemonwood

Ser Andrey Dalt of Lemonwood

Ser Gerold Dayne of High Hermitage

Lord Edric Dayne of Starfall (minor?)

Lord Tremond Gargalen of Salt Shore

Lord Trebor Jordayne of the Tor

Lord Dagos Manwoody of Kingsgrave

Mors Manwoody of Kingsgrave

Lord Quentyn Qorgyle of Sandstone

Gulian Qorgyle of Sandstone

Ser Symon Santagar of Spottswood

Sylva Santagar of Spottswood

Lady Nymella Toland of Ghost Hill

Lord Harmen Uller of Hellholt

Lord Anders Yronwood

Ser Cletus Yronwood

Lady Obara Sand

Lady Nymeria Sand

Lady Tyene Sand

Lady Sarella Sand (minor?)

There are quite a few here... and some could likely be cut out...

I for one would liked to see Hound as a general, he did lead some sorties during the siege of Kingslanding... and it'll give him a chance to kill his beast of a brother. Besides if the Crownlands are down to using Kettlebacks, Clegane wouldn't seem so bad..

Kingsguard...I'm guessing ancilliaries again, dunno if there's a trigger to turn them celibate though.

The Hound may have led some sorties, but he never commanded troops, never led a host, nor managed any construction, economics, or did anything other than function as a bodyguard or minor lieutenant. I still can't see Sandor as a General in the M2TW sense...

  • 3 weeks later...

As far as ages go, I think the best we could do would be to assign a generation to each man. For example:

- anyone from Tywin's generation would be assigned a "1" or a "T" or whatever

- anyone from Ned's generation would be assigned a "2" or an "N" or whatever

- anyone from Robb's generation would be assigned a "3" or an "R" or whatever

That wouldn't be a bad way to do it... there are some characters (like Joffrey, Robb, etc.) for whom we've got exact ages, but they'll take a bit of research (and I don't have access to the texts when I post these messages)... but for many of the others, we can put down a generation, and then randomly set an age...

Here are the ages given at Towerofthehand.com I don't know which book the ages should come from.
