The Adequate Jon
No we cannnot name Generals for mercs. We can for the slave/rebel faction, however. We can have a moral-bosting general unit for mercs, like the general's bodyguard, but you cant hire a named character, AFAIK So, should we add Vargo Hoat to the Lannister Generals and Salidor Saan to Stannis' Generals, or should they be generals for rebel factions? Maester Yobjascz
Re: Crownlands - I thought Blount was younger... late 30's... but I could be wrong. That was just my impression. Re: Hoat/Saan I'd make them retinue members that are 'attached' to a non-replenishing mercenary hire. Once hired, the general that has the company in command gets that leader as retinue... The Adequate Jon
Blount is described as balding with gray in his beard. I changed him from late 40s to just 40s. Originally, I thought he was the same age as Trant, but when I found Blount's description, I decided to make him older.

aeoleron9
Sleek work AJ. Only 2 factions left I suppose? Mormont will linger dangerously close to the bucket every turn unless they change the aging/dying codes I think. Characters above 60 usually drop like flies...And I remember Benjen was already gone before Eddard lost his head? Probably add him in a future 'Others Invasion' expansion On another note, it seems CA/Sega really mucked up this time with the 1.2 patch, so looks like we're in for another wait...Dunno whats the team's take on this, but from what I've heard the patch did solve several combat issues like the 2hand and shield bug. Not really counting on diplomacy improvement myself, I'm waiting for Ultimate AI to update for the patch.

Marcus
Great! Except, holy crap those are long lists. I think I said 10-15 would be sufficient, and I think I counted 26 for Dorne... I mean, nothing against your work, being thorough is great... but its a bit impractical, and it does create more work to implement that many... So, if you would please edit those down, it'd be appreciated. Anyone who's never held a command or isn't of much political importance so we can get those numbers down. Also, I saw somebody had asked. Yes we can name admirals, so if someone should rather be an admiral, that can be done. Next step is finishing the unit rosters and corresponding units. After that, I believe Ancilliaries would be next? We'll have to see.
The Adequate Jon
I cut down the lists to 15 generals or less. I used a strikethough on those I eliminated, so you all can see who was cut. If anyone disagrees, let me know. I also noted those who are more like admirals than generals.
Maester Yobjascz
Looks good... though I'd keep Cotter Pyke as a General, rather than an Admiral... the Night's Watch doesn't have much of a navy... and he's manning a tower full of rangers and watchmen. If they went on a ranging, he'd likely lead them. Also, Adequate Jon, can you copy the current lists into a single post for easier reference? Thanks! bowman
first of all: hello to all! i am new here. if my english is not the best please be kind - it is not my natural language. but now on with the things i came here for: Mormont will linger dangerously close to the bucket every turn unless they change the aging/dying codes I think. Characters above 60 usually drop like flies... AFAIK the age limits can be altered in the data/descr_campaign_db.xml. there you find a section called family_tree around line 58. it should look something like this (i already changed several values for my own learning-to-mod): <family_tree> <max_age uint="105"/> <max_age_for_marriage_for_male uint="75"/> <max_age_for_marriage_for_female uint="40"/> <max_age_before_death uint="115"/> <max_age_of_child uint="10"/> <old_age uint="60"/> <age_of_manhood uint="16"/> <daughters_age_of_consent uint="16"/> <daughters_retirement_age uint="40"/> <age_difference_min int="-10"/> <age_difference_max int="30"/> <parent_to_child_min_age_diff uint="12"/> <min_adoption_age uint="20"/> <max_adoption_age uint="30"/> <max_age_for_conception uint="50"/> <age_of_manhood_close uint="14"/> <max_number_of_children uint="10"/> </family_tree> as you can see you can alter a lot of age related things. i had no time to test but i do not know why it should not work. ok, i confess that changing the max_number_of_children from 4 to 10 did not work but the other values still have to be tested. i think the key to the mormont-problem is the old_age value. setting it to 100 should save him for a few years ... but also all the other older characters so that e.g. hoster tully will also get older than 100. and now something different: where can i apply for contributing to the mod? i started making my own asoiaf-mod but then i found this one. why not try to merge? i did some basic ui-modifications like making icons for the houses, loading-screens and so on. i also have a map but it is very very simple so it will not help you very much. Further i started customizing some of the strat_page textures (which is kind of hard for me as i am completely new to it). some of the stuff will have to be translated back to english because i use the german version but that is no problem. so if help is appreciated please pm me!
