Legitimate_Bastard
Of all the executed Lords who were called to KL to answer for the crimes of their sons - why was Ethan Glover spared by Aerys?
Lord Varys
We don't know at this point. My idea is that Ethan confessed to things Aerys wanted to hear and was thus not executed with the others. But that's just a guess.

Why Brandon's squire was spared and why he rode with Eddard to Rhaegar's tower of joy located in Dorne where Ethan died is one of my ankle biters. Brandon Ice-Eyes
It was either a threat by Aerys, so he could live to tell the tale, which I doubt he would want as it would spark more controversy, or he, as Lord Varys suggested, merely said the right things and got away with his life for a few years before perishing one RR. Legitimate_Bastard
The only conclusion I can come up with is that he wanted to leave someone alive to spread fear and try to keep potentially rebellious lords in line.
cpg2016
I always assumed it was because Ethan Glover was a squire, and therefore obligated to come with Brandon, while the others were all there of their own free will. Maybe as some twisted last resort of claiming to be "just" on the part of Aerys, in sparing the one person who was commanded to ride to KL.
