Details. What did you play? Did you sing? Got through the nervousness ok?

I'm guessing if it went so well, there will be more such dates?

Yeah. It’s shocking, isn’t it? Well he’s still a babe. I mean not like that, the way he was 15 years ago when he played Aragorn, but he’s adorable like a puppy. I should stop talking :leaving:

my Christmas staple is Love Actually and Harry Potter 1-2. I also love Santa ClausE,  Home Alone 1 and Bad Santa and I get myself into a mindset in which I even enjoy Elf. In fact I’ll watch almost any hallmark level Christmas movie and enjoy it when it’s Christmas.

This was exhausting.... I spent the past hour scrubbing limescale from the other bathroom. On the upside it’s much easier to clean the tiles in a shower cabin than in a tub, on the downside it took an hour to make it look presentable. I need to pick up a couple bathroom supplies tomorrow and it’ll be nice and welcoming and actually usable.

I had to play second guitar on a couple of songs my friends were covering (I actually played the lead parts not the rhythm) which I wasn’t nervous about at all as I’ve played for years.

I also played piano(well keyboard) and sung Pyramid Song by Radiohead, which I was very nervous about as I’m somewhat of a rusty pianist but I’ve been practicing lots and did really well so I’m happy today :D.

I’m not sure about performing again, if my friends need some extra guitar I probably will help them out but I don’t want to make it a regular thing really, I can’t dedicate enough time to it with mini Sith taking up so much of my time.

:)What is the Viggo doing these days? I lost track after Hidalgo and a History of Violence.

I'm glad you have that ritual - I've never had one till this LOTR thing started up in recent years.

Limescale?! Ugh, that's brutal stuff to clean - but congrats for getting it done.

My big weekend chore was climbing a tree to saw off some branches Mrs. C thought should come down.

I don't know Radiohead well, but my impression is he's quite a singer? So it must have been a demanding vocal part - but you say the piano made you more nervous? maybe I will youtube the song. You've got me curious now.

I can understand with baby sith, music can't be a regular thing. My sister likes to sing and her husband plays guitar, sop they had a band for a short time, but its so much work getting everybody together to practice when you have kids (they have 3) and a house and job and etc. They have not played together in years now.

Yes, he’s a great singer, and can be challenging to cover vocally, although I actually found a womans vocals worked really well with that song. I did find the piano part a bit harder, it isn’t the easiest flowing song as it has an awkward syncopated time signature.

You know, one does not need to be a regular here to predict your reaction the moment I saw Rhaenys' post.

So Maybe you can explain it to me as someone who’s a regular and still too dummy to get it

my long weekend was rather bleh... I did defeat a big ass to do list and got a stick blender in a very “me” color as my friend pointed out, and cooked and now I’m going to get some Halloween cookies to test out which I want for my pre-Halloween night (I won’t be home for Halloween so I have to bring my “plans” forward). And other than that, I just watched Netflix and slept and felt sorry for myself. :dunno:

Sorry your weekend was not better for you.

Ours consisted of doing various household chores preparatory to winter time. The garden hose had to be drained, rolled ed up and put away in the basement along with the patio furniture which I stowed away the weekend before. The house plants had all been settled back inside - but only in a temporary spot in the largely empty living room (going to start a big renovation on that any day now). The pots all had to be wiped free of dirt and moved to sunnier spots within the house. Also started a repair job on the back steps whose boards are rotting even though they are dry most of the time and are well painted. Not quite done with that yet - maybe today. So many jobs yet to do. Its the joy of home ownership. Don't get me wrong - I'm spoiled now and hope never to live in an apartment or under anyone else's roof ever again. But it does mean signing up for another job, essentially.

Have any of you heard this rumor: That next year after the final season of GOT, the 6th book will be released, and that possibly the 7th around Xmas? :o

Huh my lord... these are the times when I’m glad I live in the city. At least there aren’t any outdoor chores apart from sweeping the balcony every other month or so. It’s quite enough to deal with the indoor ones. I still need to sort out my closet because it’s rather disastrous and I need to do something about the back room (from which my flatmate moved out).

No, I haven’t heard that rumor, but I don’t believe a word of it.

I cooked again, it was decent. I’m much better at pasta dishes than anything that involves roasting protein. I’ll have to experiment with making lasagna.

And i got the Halloween cookies, dear lord, they taste as vile as they look. That’s the problem with this new wave confectionary shoes. The decor is stunning, the goods look insane, but taste no Better Than something between vile and mediocre and the service is usually attrocious too, because they spend the cash on decor and marketing instead of staff. But that’s what you get when you’re a sucker for superficies and I never learn. Or do you know what? Why am I blaming myself? New wave confectionary shops may be like men, but non new wave ones aren’t any better either. I have been to a number of rustic places with hipster and hippie vibes that had disgusting interiors, so little marketing we had to spend ten minutes in front of the building looking for the entrance and the service was still terrible. So it must be some sort of, I don’t know, post socialist curse that we don’t know how to provide good service in this country? It could be. Whatever, I’m rambling and stupid things again. I’ll go and make myself useful and organize my closet :leaving:

I hear you, when we moved in last winter time we decided we were going to do some decorating ourselves, I’ve no idea what we were thinking as I was heavily pregnant by then, my fiancée didn’t really let me do much but painting isn’t really her strong suit either so we ended up getting decorators in after a half day attempt at doing it ourselves.

Were slowly putting our own mark on the place though, the kitchen isn’t bad at the moment but we’ve plans to design our very own perfect one early next year.

I think when you have your own place there is always something that needs doing or something that you want to change, it never stops!.

Mini Sith has been naughty today, now she’s crawling confidently she won’t stop and seems constantly on a quest to get her tiny hands on mamas iPhone so she can be amazed at the screen lighting up, chew it a bit and drop it on the floor, I’ve started keeping it way out of reach and out of sight!.

Welcome to my life: a girl I really like, and hey we've bonded: over shared trauma. Urghghgh. I've literally forgotten how to interact with a person, and now you add to thew mix that each of us knows the other is massively damaged? I'm genuinely facepalming. Life has such a cruel sense of humour, we couldn't just like each other. OH NO! THERE MUST BE MUTUAL PAIN!
