I bleached it again (otherwise I should have used blue dyes and this stuff.) A process which is, obviously, extremely damaging. Then I dyed it with a shade which was pure "light brown" to return to my normal self, which is medium brown. (I might mention that in hairdressing the "real" colors are one or two shades lighter than the average person's perception of that color). What was my surprise when the result was black.  Well, after bleaching twice, one doesn't know anymore with what is she working with.  That's why good hairdressers also take into account the health of the hair when doing their job. I had it this way a couple of days and since it didn't vanish at all, I bleached it again for a third time. Needless to say that my strand became chewing gum in my fingers.

With make-up, I used to be good at it, smokey eye's look and this stuff, but now I just use eyeliner or kohls, since I don't remember the tutorials I used to follow.... I've never been good doing my nails, I might occasionally paint them blue or coral once or twice a year, but I'm  very bad at doing them.

With limited amount of free time, gel nails isn't something I would want to spend time on learning. There are more useful/interesting/fun things to learn if I have the time.

Drawings? No. I don't do drawings. My nails have to be short and one solid color, either a nude shade or dark reds or purples.

My brows are black, but not very full or shapely, so they need a litte attention if I'm going to leave the house. Lipstick is something I almost never wear. It's just for some some fancier nights out or actual formal events, otherwise I can't tolerate anything other than lip balm. And yeah, I agree that complex eye looks for special occassions are fun.

Well... eyelash curlers do make your lashes look great but then... on the one time out of 10000 when they tear your lashes out.... let's just say I won't be returning to them for a while. As for fake lashes, I think I had them once, not sure what occassion it was. Not something that's worth the money, the time or the effort, imo. And they can also look painfully fake.

It’s your sexy getting ready song. Sexy getting ready song.

My Freshman year roommate and I had a thing where we would do "Music Montage Mondays" to sum up the weekend during college.

What if every topic had a theme song? Of course, today's universal theme should be "Happy Birthday to you" in High Valyrian - right?

I would compare our tax system to Texas now, if I only I had the remotest idea about what it’s like. Oh well, Texas sounds like a good place even without a point of reference.

You do seem like you know your way around taxes. But then I thought the same about a friend and customs and it turned out I should have just gone with my gut and applied for a custom process by the post office instead of trying and failing to do it myself. But this is off topic. So marrying for perks, huh? Pff. You tax digger...

(that was a joke, just to be sure)

What I do is cut it back to shoulder length every seven years then struggle for the next three or four to grow it out. Then I enjoy it for two years and get bored and the cycle repeats itself. I haven’t experimented a lot with color, I had a phase when I badly wanted a balayage, but no hair dresser managed to accomplish the task. Whatever highlights I had turned coppery quite fast too as my hair has a red undertone. So now I basically just get it chopped a little to keep it healthy and dye it its original color.

I took a small look, in no way comprehensive, at the Hungarian tax code and it doesn't seem that complicated to be honest but it does have a dumb number of sub categories for municipalities for such a small country. Also WTF 19.5% from employer and 18.5% from income to social security and 14 - 22 % income to health care contribution... No wonder your salaries are shit.

If I'm going to be honest about marriage the reality is that I don't know how the hell I'm gonna get married because the logical part of my brain goes "you gotta absolutely get an ironclad prenup that's witnessed and notarized by 2 judges and filed with multiple copies sent to the bank, your lawyer, your employer, city hall, the police, your parents and the insurance company."

But then the other half of my brain goes" if you need this much protection from this woman then you shouldn't marry her to begin with " and so the debate goes on in my mind, now obviously I don't want that debate, I want to just do the vanilla fall in love and get married and trust each other without question(joint bank account and all that) and have a bunch of kids and grow old thing but that seems to be a matter of faith and trust and I'm a man of very little faith in anything but myself.

*le sigh*

I don’t watch but heard on YouTube it’s been cancelled.

I like the way you talk, mmmhmmm.

Your income will get you far in Texas. But it’s texas. The humidity is nothing short of torture. The bugs are huge and aplenty. The mexican food is by far superior than any other with my mother in law’s at the top. Maybe you’ll find yerself a cute cowgirl/cowboy to wrangle into matrimony for those extra tax breaks.

Tax digger :lmao: you never fail me Rhae.

You are one spammer I can’t picture in my mind. I always imagined you blonde and very stylish but I think you’re brunette and very stylish. I think I got blonde from all the J law pics.

So I somehow managed to get sciatica. It’s extremely painful. I can barely walk. Not so easy carrying about the wee one but I’m managing. Now that her colic is gone she is so happy and sweet and adorable. She loves her brother so much and just smiles and giggles for him. I have to say, I’m so happy to be a homemaker. I know that’s so out of trend today but I love it. I love spending my time with my little squish and my big squash.

It's been picked up by another network. For me it's a show that's nice to catch a few clips of on YouTube but not one to watch full episodes of and follow.

You should hear my pillow talk, I use revenue charts and pew statistics :leer:

OH, I know Texas well enough, my grandparents on my father's side are from Texas. I've been and I've liked. Besides I went to university in California and survived that shit hole, nothing can be worse. As for food I'm more of a soul food and southern BBQ guy, biscuits and gravy, ribs, anything smoked or slow roast. Yep that's the stuff. As for finding a cow girl, well I know how to ride horses pretty well so maybe lol.

Sorry to hear that, it is indeed most likely caused by the pregnancy. It's common for the extra weight to cause irritation of sciatic nerve. However, because sometimes I like to pretend I'm House, if your mother had it and it wasn't in a pregnancy time then it could point to a tumor, see sciatic nerve irritation can be caused by multiple things but isn't really genitic however one of its' causes; a tumor pressing on it, can be genetic. The couple of studies I've read about unusual methods and signs of detecting cancer cited it but it's very obscure and unreliable. Very cool to read tho. Anyway hope you feel better and since this is most likely not chronic and caused by pregnancy then 12 weeks bed rest should have you good as new.

In other news I've finally made the switch to a straight razor. It's very nice. This thing is extremely sharp tho, I could totally skin a dear with it.

 It's been too long since we got a CXG song reference indeed.

The new season starts soon, you can look forward to many more then.

The downstairs neigbours have a young border collie puppy. How cute are puppies? (They also have a particularily dumb cat. Or maybe he is just pretending to be dumb and is actually an evil mastermind who tricks people into leaving the door open so he can go sit on our doormat. And then he looks all confused every time I open the door and I am not one of his owners and I shoo or carry him out. Nope, I am going to go with the dumb theory.)

I do not have anything to add to the conversation about make-up, almost cannot remember the last time I wore anything on my face.

@Vin See, I don’t know that much about our tax system. I’m also not an employee so salary reductions don’t apply for me, my salary is shitty simply because my company has a shitty pricing policy and market visibility and can’t (/doesn’t want to) afford higher hourly fees.

What I know and can’t get over is having to pay income tax after overhead costs unless utility bills are in my name. Or 27% VAT.

I don’t think I would ever get a prenup. I would sign it if the other party initiated getting one, but if I commit to someone enough to say I do, I trust them enough to not rob me too. Me and my commitment issues. But I actually understand the dilemma.

In other news, my blood work is okay, contrary to what biology books would suggest. My nice doctor was so nice he spent fifteen minutes explaining to me that sixth grade biology books aren’t the Bible and things aren’t simple and black and white as they would suggest and just because I don’t deliver that exact number I’m still healthy. And I didn’t have to pay either. Did I say this doctor is very nice?

I survived Cal State. Barely. The indoctrination is strong. And it’s become such a cesspool.

Dang now I’m hungered for some BBQ. Real bbq. Not this AZ crap.  But for realz the Mexican food is on point. San Antonio’s where it’s at.

So the sciatica I think just runs in the family as a matter of coincidence - maybe it’s the way we are built. We are rather short and German made so stalky. My mom had surgery for her disc being on her sciatic nerve. I don’t think I’m that bad. My back is significantly better with just 3 visits to the chiropractor. In all honesty I thought it was kind of a bunch of quackery but it’s working. So I’m gonna go with it.

umm, hourly workers still get their pay deducted. i dunno maybe your system is structured differently . yeah VAT sucks and 27%is high , it's 2 to 8.5% in Texas depending on where you are in the state . it's a fixed 6% in Pennsylvania.

generally speaking ,i believe the fairest possible tax is a simple fixed flat rate tax of 20%  on all individual income that's at least 5 thousand dollars above the poverty line and increase the cap 10 thousand after marriage and 15 thousand per dependent child in the family so basically a family of 4 will not pay taxes unless they make 60 thousand which is double the poverty line for a 4 individual household .

everyone who can contribute is contributing and it's proportional. I as someone who's in the top 1 percent will still pay significantly more than the entire income of the people in the middle class and would be incentivized to have our money here in the US where it can be invested instead of getting it out using loopholes because contrary to common belief loopholes are not magic wormholes that take all your money and keeps it safe . lawyers and accountants and banks and governments have to get their share and so for example getting my money to Switzerland nets me around  74 cents on the dollar which is a good deal for the capital i'm moving but it is a game of diminishing returns so when the tax cuts passed here in the us i was able to transfer a considerable chunk from overseas back home to the US .  it really is just a simple cost benefit analysis , make it more profitable for me to give my money to the IRS  otherwise no thanks , I have better deals elsewhere . we simply cannot sustain this unfair model where only 53% of the country pay taxes and the remaining 47%  simply vote for more socialist ideals without any skin in the game .

it was Stanford for me and the indoctrination is so much worse now (i dunno how old you are but i assume you're a fair bit older than me having had two children) . i had professors (the ones in mandatory humanities classes, go figure) who were proud communists preaching their retard drivel and how we should "destroy western civilization".  of course i got A's because these morons are so easy to trick , just cater to their fantasies and bash on the rich and say how everything is the fault of "white straight cis gendered males" and throw in a couple of quotes from Das Kapital and Noam Chomsky and you'll basically get love letters in your exam grades . heck one such professor liked me so much she wanted me to "join the party"  .

and don't get me started on the students , they're basically 80% degenerate dirtbags with no principles or values other than binge drinking , taking drugs and spreading venereal diseases (relationships don't exist to these people , they're all basically communal fuck buddies) . they have no concept of personal responsibility and cannot take care of themselves and i mean not even the basic feed, cloth and clean after yourself . they really have no purpose other than the next dopamine firing (which is why i suspect most of them are regularly depressed and barfing at 4 am )  . i literally had someone knock on the door the of electromagnetic lab and ask me if i had any weed or knew anyone who sold near by .

here's some genuine advice to anyone who's considering their future and thinking about university ,if you're not going into it to become an engineer , a doctor , a lawyer or an accountant or some other technical field that actually needs labs , equipment and accreditation then just don't bother . it really is not worth it , you can learn all they have to offer on your own from freely available courses online and books , i did not attend half my classes and i still graduated with a 4.0 gpa . heck i went there on a fully paid scholarship and i was disgusted by it , i have no idea how anyone can justify paying for this . and they want free tuition , Jesus , the students that are graduating are mostly useless and unhirable .and my advisor asked me why I absolutely refused to do my Masters at Stanford . they also had the gall to call me asking for donations  HA!  they don't even deserve the federal tax dollars they receive.

jesus , you triggered my Vietnam Flashbacks lady :crying: i need a hug !

we're going to Houston. i dunno i'm not into mexican salsas , i'm more into butter and cream based sauces  .

hmm, perhaps , germany is varied. my mother is of Prussian stock and she's 6.2' and built like a spear  . chiropractor's are legitimate but you have to go on reputation , remember these guys are not MDs  and can easily cause you a serious injury if you go to someone who doesn't know what they're doing . hope this helps you nicely .

this browns jets game is depressing , Cleveland truly is the factory of sadness .

@Vin, I have gotten myself warnings from mods for one of the words you are using, so I would advise you to tone it down.

(I would also advise you to move discussions about tax systems and whatnot to GenChat. I mean, it is okay to post it here because this thread is generally open to almost anything, but it is more likely that you find people who actually want to discuss such heavy stuff over there.)

@rocksniffer WHY ARE YOU FOLLOWING ME?

@Vin my tax arrangement is kinda complicated, it doesn’t fall into a clear category. And Yeah, I guess that doesn’t sound too bad, though a progressive tax system must be graded very cleverly in order to be fair.

As for prenups, I can only repeat myself, I’m not for them, but I understand if someone is for whatever reason.

Not really, I'd bet you a 100 bucks that you're probably operating in violation of at least a dozen codes and regulations (state and federal), it's inevitable, over 150000 new regulations are issued every year and they're never repealed. Whenever my hatred for the government wanes a bit I go and read the latest bill in congress or some EPA or FCC or department of agriculture or education regulations and my disgust is revamped with a fiery passion.

I have one that says "I'm the invisible hand of the king". Not sure if anyone knows that reference but I love it.

TV quality is really watered down these days. It's much worse in the oscars, I haven't seen a deserving best picture movie that actually did well at the box office since the dark knight and that was an age ago.

We were discussing taxes, specifically self employed v. employed. I'm not surprised you dislike gov't. reg.s, but they've never been a problem for me. Taxes on the other hand . . . they get expensive fast if you can't keep up with your estimated payments.

I do not know the "I'm the invisible hand of the king" ref. Is that in GOT or elsewhere?

I have no opinion on the overall quality of TV - I've never watched enough to form one. However, with all of Netflix at my disposal, I have no problem finding something I enjoy when the mood strikes (and I'm bored with playing Slither). Currently getting toward the end of my GOT rewatch. Am enjoying s.7 almost as much as the first time - love it.

Had to edit this in as your comment about the Browns-Jets made me scurry over to espn to check the score - so Cleveland won! That's the first in how long? Riotous behavior on the Erie shores, no doubt. And a very bad night for NYC. Jets lose to the Browns (humiliating enough) and the Sox clinch the division in Yankee stadium (again). Wow. Double dose of humble pie.

here's some genuine advice to anyone who's considering their future and thinking about university ,if you're not going into it to become an engineer , a doctor , a lawyer or an accountant or some other technical field that actually needs labs , equipment and accreditation then just don't bother . it really is not worth it , you can learn all they have to offer on your own from freely available courses online and books , i did not attend half my classes and i still graduated with a 4.0 gpa . heck i went there on a fully paid scholarship and i was disgusted by it , i have no idea how anyone can justify paying for this . and they want free tuition , Jesus , the students that are graduating are mostly useless and unhirable .and my advisor asked me why I absolutely refused to do my Masters at Stanford . they also had the gall to call me asking for donations  HA!  they don't even deserve the federal tax dollars they receive.

jesus , you triggered my Vietnam Flashbacks lady :crying: i need a hug !

we're going to Houston. i dunno i'm not into mexican salsas , i'm more into butter and cream based sauces  .

hmm, perhaps , germany is varied. my mother is of Prussian stock and she's 6.2' and built like a spear  . chiropractor's are legitimate but you have to go on reputation , remember these guys are not MDs  and can easily cause you a serious injury if you go to someone who doesn't know what they're doing . hope this helps you nicely .

this browns jets game is depressing , Cleveland truly is the factory of sadness .

Well color me impressed - Stanford?

I passed the majority of my classes doing pretty much exactly what you said. I won’t get into as to not offend anyone but yah, it was bad. I don’t know if you’re being sarcastic, but my university experience was a joke. I’m very happy to be out of CA. I couldn’t take it anymore.

I am indeed probably a fair bit older than most here.  But not yet 40, so there’s that.

Bought my little squish her first Halloween costume - actually I bought two - a pineapple or a unicorn. I’m thinking unicorn. Lil O wants to be some character from Five Nights at Freddy’s. I was hoping he’d want to be something we could sorta put together ourselves like Dr. Who - something we could work on together. Oh well. Are you guys dressing up this year?
