RNC Blasts Kavanaugh Accuser for Working ‘Toward Human Rights’

Though she told The New Yorker she was not “politically motivated” to share her story, the RNC presented other details that, they think, call this into question. Specifically, that Ramirez is a registered Democrat and that she “works toward human rights, social justice, and social change.”

With this and the Cruz add on O'Rourke, added to "fault on both sides" Trump... The GOP is own goaling this nicely. Soon, the Dems won't need to spend much at all on campaigns. The GOP clearly loves doing it for them.

Not to contribute to this ongoing sh*tshow, but there are unconfirmed rumors that Rosenstein has 'verbally resigned' his position.

We are in for a bumpy ride folks (if true).

It is.

I want to know why NYT published that now instead of last year. Seems irresponsible to do that given what this invstigation is doing, and how they handled the Trump campaign compared to how they handled the Clinton campaign.

If true, I wonder if this is an attempt by the Trump Swamp to bury this story beneath the current Kavanaugh scumfuckery or if they're attempting to shift the news away from Kavanaugh so that they can just go ahead with the confirmation and hope nobody notices.

It appears to be a clusterfuck right now. The WH claims Rosenstein is coming to resign. The DoJ says he was summoned and Trump will demand his resignation which Rosenstein will refuse.

A fourth allegation. This man needs to be impeached.

Which is important. If Rosenstein resigns, the Federal Vacancies Act lets Trump temporarily appoint someone to be the DAG without senate confirmation and this person would be in charge of the Mueller investigation. If he's fired, the Act doesn't apply, and Noel Francisco, the solicitor general, is in charge of the Mueller investigation.

The fact that what is happening is in such dispute suggests that the White House doesn't trust Francisco to shut down the investigation.

ETA: Actually, it may be even more complicated than that. Rosenstein is/was the DAG, but he was overseeing Mueller in his capacity as the Acting-AG (because AG Sessions was recused). Even if Rosenstein resigns and Trump gets to appoint an Acting-DAG, it is unclear if that position automatically gets to be the Acting-AG as well. Francisco may be the Acting-AG no matter what (until there's a senate-confirmed DAG to take over), so the resigned/fired dispute may be related to the other duties of the DAG (which there are a lot, just most aren't as newsworthy as Mueller).

OMG, stop with this distraction shifting the news away bullshit. They are just scumbags trying to save their own ass. They aren't these well thought out types that have every angle covered.

Holy fuck. Nothing annoys me more than people thinking shit is a distraction when time and time again these fucks prove they are utterly incomptent and are just reactionary and have no ethics or morals and just act how they want.

Regarding Rosenstein.

Sarah Kendzior hit the nail on the head.

Not sure what he means, about this prolonging it.

While Trump has agitated for the Mueller probe to shut down, former federal prosecutor David Weinstein said Rosenstein’s possible exit could have unintended consequences.

“A change in supervisors could actually prolong things,” he told POLITICO recently.

Rosenstein expects to be fired after report he discussed taping Trump
Rosenstein was headed to the White House Monday, according to a person familiar with his thinking.

Trump Says Kavanaugh Sexual Misconduct Allegations Are “Totally Political” and “I Am With Him All the Way”

https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2018/09/trump-brett-kavanaugh-new-yorker-accusation.html

Quote

A day after a new allegation of sexual misconduct by Brett Kavanaugh became public, President Trump told reporters that he believed the accusation was “totally political” and said, “I am with him all the way.”

Trump’s comments came after he made remarks at the United Nations on Monday morning. They followed those made by Kellyanne Conway on CBS This Morning, when she said that the allegations against Kavanaugh were “starting to feel like a vast left-wing conspiracy.”

How many times have I said that I found the commercials run by the Republicans on CNN deeply suspicious? All those women talking about what a great guy Kavanaugh is, how smart he is, how thoughtful, open minded, what a great husband and father he is.

The Republicans uncovered the stories of his wild youth and campaigned hard to paint him as a great guy.

Lies lies lies and more lies.
