Next POV to die

The next POV to die will be whoever is in the prologue, of course. ;)

Well LOL yes :agree:. But do you have any inkling as to who that may be? I would love to see a Stonesnake prologue chapter that takes a peep at something beyond the wall. I have been thinking a lot about those who are missing but not dead and what role they could potentially play.

Aeron. Then Victarion. Then Arianne. Asha. Theon. Cersei. Jaime. Barristan. Jon Connington. Davos. Melisandre. Bran. Jon and Dany.  In the end of the series remaining survivors - Sansa, Tyrion, Arya, Samwell, Brienne.

Well, IMO the time is overripe for a Benjen POV, but I'd hate to see him die at this point. Even though we've had very little from him, I find that I think fondly of him for trying to talk Jon out of the NW. I still really liked Jon at that point and felt that he was making an impulsive mistake. Who knew it would lead to so many?

Sooooo, Sansa and Tyrion remain married and Sam and Brienne hook up and Arya stands around saying "Ewwwwwww!!"?

Sansa + Tyrion - yes, but Sam and Brienne - no. Sam has Gilly. And Brienne will never marry. Though Arya will probably marry with Gendry, and they will rule over Stormlands.

P.S. I listed as survivors only characters, that had POV. Obviously, that there will be other people, besides those 5, that will also survive.

I know, but you put that image into my head and I just had to share!

I'm sure a while ago that there was some rumor going around that Jeyne Westerling would be in the prologue chapter. The last time we saw her she was being escorted towards the Westerlands by Jaime Lannister's men. I have a feeling the prologue will be Blackfish or the Brotherhood attacking the Lannister and Frey men, and helping the hostages such as Jeyne and Edmure to escape. If this is the case then I could see the prologue being a Addam Marbrand POV.

As to who I think the next POV to die will be, I'm going with either Aeron or Victarion. Barristan is pretty high on the list aswell, but I'm hoping beyond hope that he makes it, at least until they get back to Westeros.

I say Aeron - Euron will sacrifice him to the sea. Our Euron info will come from Victarion. But who knows!

Aeron is clearly Azor Ahi reborn.  Note how all three words start with A.  There can be no doubt!

We do need to hear from Benjen. He or Stonesnake would serve for a view beyond the wall. Hell, a Bloodraven POV would be epic too.

Assume Jaime lives, could you see Brienne marrying then?

I hadn't considered Marbrand at all. I want to see Bazza back in Westeros too. Would be such a shame for him to die in Essos.

That's possible, though I think, that it's unlikely.

I don't see Jaime surviving thru war with the Others (in his dream about caves under Casterly Rock, his light faded - i.e. he will die). He has caused too much evil, so as a repentance for that, he should die, while defending people of 7K from the Undead Army. Or maybe he will die even before that. Maybe what will happen next, is Euron getting to King's Landing, and making a proposal to Cersei, which she will accept. So when Jaime will return to KL, Cersei and her new husband, will kill him, for betraying Cersei/not answering to her summons. Or Jaime will be killed by the Mountain, after he will kill Cersei.

As for Brienne, I see her becoming a Kingsguard, same as her ancestor, Duncan the Tall. So she will never marry, and will die childless (Duncan became father before he joined KG. Could be, that he was unaware, that he impregnated his sweetheart. The same thing can't happen to a woman. She won't give birth to a child, and then abandon it, to join Kingsguards).

I don't see Brienne, as anyone else, besides being a knight. That's what she wanted her entire life. Marriage and raising children, is not something, that she ever wanted, so I don't see her suddenly changing entire course of her life, just because of Jaime. I don't think, that what's between the two of them is love, or lust, or sometning of that sort. What I see, as her future is - Brienne, Lady Commander of Queensguards, to Queen Lyanna Targaryen, daughter of Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow (who will be crowned as Aegon VII Targaryen). Dany will die in childbirth, and Jon, after the war with the Others will be over, will return to The Wall. So 7K will be ruled by two Regents - Sansa Stark, Queen Lyanna's godmother, and her husband and Queen's Hand, Tyrion Lannister. So Brienne will become Queensguard because of Sansa, she will be protecting Sansa and her niece, Queen Lyanna.

Or not :)

Very good. I love to know what people think things will turn out like.

Jon will die from his stab wounds.  It would be beyond ridiculous for him to survive that.  Bowen Marsh will follow him to the grave.  Victarion will be betrayed by the Dusky woman and die too.  Stannis and Wayman.  Somebody will catch on to what Petyr and Sansa are doing and execute them.

So who dies?

  1. Victarion
  2. Jon
  3. Bowen
  4. Sansa
  5. Petyr

I would love to see a Littlefinger POV - maybe we will get one? I don't see Littlefinger dying for a good while yet... but I could be wrong.

Jon Snow already technically died, he did not survive. Will he come back to life somehow? I think so. But he is definitely dead, for now.

Quote

A Dance with Dragons - Jon XIII

Then Bowen Marsh stood there before him, tears running down his cheeks. "For the Watch." He punched Jon in the belly. When he pulled his hand away, the dagger stayed where he had buried it.
Jon fell to his knees. He found the dagger's hilt and wrenched it free. In the cold night air the wound was smoking. "Ghost," he whispered. Pain washed over him. Stick them with the pointy end. When the third dagger took him between the shoulder blades, he gave a grunt and fell face-first into the snow. He never felt the fourth knife. Only the cold …

Not necessarily. Awhile ago, in another thread, we were postulating that those "stick 'em with the pointy end" idiots may have missed any vital organs. All we really know is that Jon lost consciousness (after whispering Ghost's name). There is a ton of wiggle room there.

Perhaps he will survive - without debating blood loss, the size of a dagger etc etc. LOL. But I personally reckon he will die proper, and then gets gently woken back up.

I feel like mentioning the show is heresy in these threads, but my mind always goes back to 'the bullet points' that GRRM gave the DD's. I feel like the info he gave them that pertains to the things that happen at the end of ADWD are the least likely to veer away from the story we will get in Winds and Dream. Pretty much, Jon will get resurrected by Mel as happened in the show.

After we get too far past the end of ADWD I feel like the DD's could have gone way off the path - but I digress, this has nothing to do with this thread.

I speculate far too much.
