For example:

The Ghost of Christmas Past shows Walder as a child, being annoying at the Whitewalls tourney after seeing his sister having intimate relations with a servant.

The Ghost of Christmas Present shows Walder's sons and grandsons feuding about next line of succession.

The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come shows House Frey in ruins, the Twins destroyed and his grave forgotten and neglected. Sobbing, he pledges to the ghost that he will change his ways to avoid this outcome.

"PLEASE SPIRIT DON'T MAKE THIS BE! DON'T MAKE THIS FUTURE COME TO PASS! WHAT MUST I DO?!"

After waking up, Walder awakens on Christmas morning with joy and love in his heart! He decides to abandon his Red Wedding plan and continue to be loyal bannermen of House Stark and Tully. The wedding goes smoothly and Edmure has a pretty wife. Walder blesses the bride and the groom and wishes everyone in the wedding Merry Christmas.

The Ghost of Christmas Future visits each of the Starks and shows them what will happen if they continue on their disastrous path.

  1. GoCF shows Ned a vision of his head rolling in the cobblestones of King's Landing.  Ned changes the course of his life, listens to Gared and heed the dude's warning.
  2. Robb sees a vision of himself wearing his wolf's head.  He stays loyal to Walder Frey and keeps his oath.
  3. Jon is shown the disastrous consequences of his actions at the Wall.  Unfortunately, he still chooses to take Arya away from Ramsay and hell still breaks loose at the Wall because of his bad decisions.

The Ghost of Christmas Past shows Arya her killing of the stableboy and the Bolton guard and the shame she felt for having killed people.

The Ghost of Christmas Present shows Arya killing Dareon and Raff, and the pleasure she felt.

The Ghost of Christmas Future shows her being a remorseless killer leading an empty, meaningless and lonely existence.

At which point she high-tails it back to Westeros to take back her identity as scion of House Stark and make the North a peaceful and prosperous place.

She never felt shame for killing them.

She didn't tell Harwin because it would be too much like telling her father, which was more than she could do.  I think it also had something to do with her fears of being rejected by her mother.  Whatever she felt, she didn't feel good about it.  And they are very different in tone from her later killings.

For Shagga,  goats were small in the pastoral past, in the present Patchface the clown juggles numerous manhoods, then the footage of goats and manhoods is interspliced at a maddening 90's MTV pace until Shagga has a seizure and sees the future as one huge goat looming over the continent and chewing on the capital.

Ghosts know better than to mess with Arya.
