Good vs Bad

Name a good person and a bad one, why?

Sam is a good person - he cares about others

Ned is a bad person - many died cuz of him (2 times)

P.S. cand anyone explain why every character (specially the Starks) hates the Lannisters. In the books seems everyone hate the Lannisters for unknown reason, is it fear or hate? Tywin did a great job as hand of the king under MAD King

Ned dislikes the Lannisters for

  • Jumping on the Rebellion’s side at the very end for political gain
  • Sacking King’s Landing and going over the top with killing Elia, Rhaenys and Aegon, particularly what happened to Elia
  • Jaime for killing the Mad King despite his vows; we all know that Jaime betrayed Aerys to prevent him from blowing up the city, but Jaime is too arrogant to admit that

Most people fear the Lannisters for what Tywin did to the Reynes and Tarbecks. The smallfolk of King’s Landing hate him for the Sack of King’s Landing. The Martells loathe the Lannisters for what the Mountain, an Lannister bannerman, did to Elia Martell (nobody deserves to be raped and murdered like Elia was). Robert dislikes the Lannisters for foisting a wife on him he didn’t want.

Good person: Jon Snow, he’s trying to do the right thing by trying to fight the White Walkers and save people’s lives

Bad Person: Ramsay Bolton, he’s a sadistic torturer and rapist who had his stepmother and baby half-brother torn apart by dogs.

That hate seems to be prior to Robert rebelion, that`s why Tywin didn`t join the rebelion, no friends among them, that and his son Jaimie. The writer did a great job portreting the rich people and the way how they are perceived by the rest. Funny how everyone hate the Lannisters for killing the dictator probably ending the war instead of Targaryen and Starks for starting the war. Will be interesting to see how other families will react when they will found that Robert rebelion was based on a lie, probably that`s why the White Walkers were introduced in the story. We all saw how the "mob" reacted to that.

It`s a post around this forum about "what if" Rhaegar told the truth.

Robert’s Rebellion wasn’t based on a lie. It was based on the fact that the Mad King abused and perverted the tradition of trial by combat for sadistic fun and ordered the deaths of two lords on scant reasoning.

So out of all the bad people you could mention in the show, such as Joffrey Baratheon, Ramsay Bolton, Euron Greyjoy, and Gregor Clegane, you went with Eddard Stark. Its almost as if you are trying to start an argument.  xD

As far as why does everyone hate the Lannisters go, it really depends on who you ask.
