King Tommen

It would be cool if he didn't die in the books - perhaps Jaime will adopt him at the end of the series and raise him like a real dad.

Eventually, Tommen (or maybe "Tom Cat"? He's a Lion, after all) realises he has the ability to skinchange felines (inherited from the ancient First Men DNA that runs through every Lannister), discovers the last remaining cub of the Great Lions of The Western Hills and they share a bond like that of Jon Snow/Ghost.

But if were being a bit more realistic, there are quite a few parties who may feel that Tommen dying would be the easiest way to seat their own player on the Throne - lest Tommen's "rightful rule" breed rebellion.

It will be interesting to see how much more clingy towards Tommen Cersei becomes over the course of TWOW. Considering her own walk of atonement, the mistrust around the Red Keep and Jaime going AWOL, one can imagine her already ultra possessive approach towards her son might increase to gargantuan levels in the next book.

Also, imagine what Cersei's reaction to Kevan and Pycelle's murder will be, as well as what she might think about her daughter's apparently disfigured face.

All of this could make Tommen and Myrcella safer, from the angle that their mother will surely increase the security around them, but the Queen Regent's erratic nature and endless ploys, power plays and deceptions could also put them even more at risk of harm, abduction or murder.

I'm with you on Cersei becoming more clingy and overprotective of Tommen. And I suspect that this will be the cause of Tommen's death. Will Cersei wreak vengeance on Margery, losing Tommen's love and possibly causing him to do something stupid which kills him? Will Cersei go all-out on Tommen, as the only male heir, neglecting and even rejecting Myrcella, as she rejected Jaime after he was maimed? Myrcella is wanted and valued by Dorne, which may align itself with Young Griff, who is currently conquering down around Storm's End. Lots of bad things can happen to people, especially children, in war. Myrcella's crown will likely come via Dorne.

I do believe that Cersei will bury all three of her children, and "gold will be their crowns, and gold their shrouds." And Cersei will be replaced by a younger, more beautiful queen - I'm hoping it Daenerys, but who knows?

Tommen is going to be eaten

Quote
Tommen helped restore her to herself. He had never been more precious to her than he was that morning, chattering about his kittens as he dribbled honey onto a chunk of hot black bread fresh from the ovens. "Ser Pounce caught a mouse," he told her, "but Lady Whiskers stole it from him."
I was never so sweet and innocent, Cersei thought. How can he ever hope to rule in this cruel realm? The mother in her wanted only to protect him; the queen in her knew he must grow harder, or the Iron Throne was certain to devour him. "Ser Pounce must learn to defend his rights," she told him. "In this world the weak are always the victims of the strong."

Cersei XI AFFC
Quote
"One more thing. A trifling matter." He gave her an apologetic smile and told her of a puppet show that had recently become popular amongst the city's smallfolk; a puppet show wherein the kingdom of the beasts was ruled by a pride of haughty lions. "The puppet lions grow greedy and arrogant as this treasonous tale proceeds, until they begin to devour their own subjects. When the noble stag makes objection, the lions devour him as well, and roar that it is their right as the mightiest of beasts."
"And is that the end of it?" Cersei asked, amused. Looked at in the right light, it could be seen as a salutary lesson.
"No, Your Grace. At the end a dragon hatches from an egg and devours all of the lions."

I agree with this.  I think that when Cersei finally goes full on bat-shit crazy (which she is damn close to already), she will do something to further alienate Tommen to the point where he could kill himself, whether on accident or on purpose.  It would also be interesting too see what type of effect on his psyche knowledge of the twincest would have, should he ever learn.

I think the combination of Cersei's violent, homicidal insanity coupled with knowing he is Jaime's son could break Tommen.  And nothing against the kid, he seems sweet enough, but losing him in such a manner because of her own deeds would be fitting for Cersei.  Of course she would be incapable of understanding the role she played.

Yeah, these all look like real possibilities - Marg seems like one of the only stable people with whom Tommen was interacting over the last year or so, and he clearly has a lot of affection for her, so this whole situation with his Queen and his mother could cause some serious emotional distress in the little King.

There's also a chance that Cersei might actually try and push Tommen and his sister Myrcella towards marriage, finally achieving what Jaime and Cersei could not.

The idea of Cersei rejecting her daughter is something I've not seen discussed at length before, and I think it' got a lot of weight.

Myrcella's injuries at the hands of Darkstar sound pretty serious, so one could imagine Cersei's warped mind associating her daughter's missing ear and facial scars with her hated brother Tyrion's missing nose - this association somehow helping to turn Cersei against Myrcella. As you said, she already displayed a certain coldness towards Jaime, upon viewing his own injury, so Cersei might even simply feel a certain "disgust" when looking at her daughter's face.

If Myrcella returns to KL and starts talking positively about the "beautiful water gardens, kind Doran, beautiful Arianne and a betrothal to dashing Trystane", what might Cersei think? Considering it was a Prince of Dorne who fought on behalf of her brother during his trial by combat, as well as the current rumours about Aegon "son of Elia" Targaryen, Cersei might just begin to view Myrcella as a potential threat to Tommen's rule.

Let's not forget Lady Nym's presence on the small council, which is sure to flame the Queen regents paranoia - if Nymeria and Myrcella display any sort of positive relationship, this could also lead Cersei towards distrusting her daughter.

And I think it's looking likely that Cersei will indeed bury all three of her children - if anything, her own actions/inactions are hurrying along the prophecy.

I think, that he will be killed by Sparrows, that will scale the walls of Red Keep, like the Mountain did during Robert's Rebellion, and Poor Fellows during Faith's uprising in 41AC, this - https://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Raymont_Baratheon

GRRM is often using repetitive patterns. The Mountain was scaling the walls with one other guy. Raymont Baratheon was also killed by two guys from Poor Fellows. Three is an important number in ASOIAF's world, so there will be a third time, when similar thing will happen again.

In 41AC rebells tried to kill the King, but he was saved by Raymont Baratheon, who was member of the Kingsguard, and died then instead of Targaryens. Elia and her children were killed by the Mountain, on order of Tywin Lannister, and if he is Ser Robert Strong, then now he is member of the Kingsguard. So two Sparrows will scale the walls of Red Keep, and will kill King Tommen Baratheon, who is actually a Lannister, and thus a fake King, so his death will be some sort of twisted justice, and payback to Lannisters for death of Elia and her children. And then those two Sparrows, for assassination of fake Baratheon, will be killed by fake Kingsguard, Robert Strong - it's like a twisted mirror reflection, of what has happened previously, with the Mountain, who became a fake Kingsguard, and before that with a real Baratheon, who was a real Kingsguard, and was killed by the Faith Militant, so the Mountain killing those two Sparrows, after they will kill Tommen, will be like payback from KG Raymont Baratheon to those rebells, that killed him. When KG Robert Strong will kill those Sparrows, that will kill Tommen, it will close the circle.

I think Cersei herself will be the one to devour him (hopefully not literally, but at the same time she's bemoaning his "weakness", she is also absolutely squashing any attempt he makes to exert his own will with hideous psychological abuse).

Quote

Cersei took him by the ear and dragged him squealing to the door, where she found Ser Boros Blount standing guard. "Ser Boros, His Grace has forgotten himself. Kindly escort him to his bedchamber and bring up Pate. This time I want Tommen to whip the boy himself. He is to continue until the boy is bleeding from both cheeks. If His Grace refuses, or says one word of protest, summon Qyburn and tell him to remove Pate's tongue, so His Grace can learn the cost of insolence." (FFC Cersei VIII)

Yes, she's trying to mold poor Tommen into the sociopath that Joffrey was. Try to force Tommen not to care about the other boy suffering in his place. Maybe even get Tommen to enjoy doing the whipping. If Cersei succeeds, then she will need to fear Tommen; bet she's never thought of that one. Cersei isn't a deep thinker. At this point, were she a Targaryen, people would be saying she's "mad."

I quite like the idea of Cersei creating her own Tommen-monster and hoisting herself with her own petard :), but I don't think that's what she was doing there. I think her only interest was in punishing him so thoroughly and utterly for crossing her that he would never dare do it again. He is royal (officially), so he has a whipping boy to be punished in his stead, and that probably makes it even worse for Tommen, and she knows it. He is a sweet, fairly sensitive boy who cares about pets and people and his wife (read: people who are not Cersei alone), so this is the equivalent of beating the idea that he's in charge out of him, and it's bad enough that it even makes Boros cringe. I doubt she actually cares enough about Tommen as anything but a means to rule to be at all concerned with what he personally enjoys, and, by the same token, I doubt she ever paid attention to exactly what Joffrey did for fun ("some mischief with a cat" for example).

That sounds like the interactive fiction game "Varicella". But GRRM doesn't share Adam Cadre's questionable theories of child-development, indicating that Tommen & Myrcella are just naturally sweeter than Joffrey.

i wonder if Tommen could suffocate then? either literally suffocated by Cersie during a mental breakdown, or by one of the sandsnakes?

No idea.

I think, though, that either he or Myrcella might die a very cruel death in the dry moat of Maegor's Holdfast. FaB made this the prominent place of death for a number of people, and it has yet to show this grisly prominence in the main series. Thus I'm pretty certain we are going to see a major character dying on those spikes.

Considering Tommen and Myrcella are not POVs it might even be that one of them dying in this manner might turn out to be as mysterious as the death of Queen Jaehaera with neither Cersei and the other POVs and characters at first knowing who is responsible.
