They had to review it. If the ball had been out, it would've been a "clear and obvious" error if the goal had stood.

So they had to take the 3 minutes to solve it.

If it takes 3 minutes just to decide whether or not the ball is out then surely this is not a clear and obvious error?

You are hung up on the obvious part. When the ball was out of play it is a clear violation of the footballing rules. If you could determine whether the ball was out with just one glimpse at the screen, then the whole VAR would be pointless.

When they say 'clear and obvious error' they don't mean 'things that are definitely illegal under the rules', they mean to correct something that he should have been able to catch at first sight. ie they don't want it used for marginal calls.

It is an objective decision technically. Either the ball is or isn’t in play. Stupid rule when the technology isn’t present to determine it objectively like on the goal line.

Nacho sent off. Real will be short of centre backs for their first Europa League game.

Stunning performance by Ajax. Fully deserved to go through. Could have won by a bigger margin as well. They outplayed Real Madrid for the majority of the 1st leg as well but made poor decisions in the final third.

ETA. this is probably the end of the road for Solari as well.
