This is a poll.  Please answer "Yes" or "No" to the following question:

Does Jon Snow have one Dayne parent (such as, for instance, Ashara, or Arthur)?

No. Martin has gone a long way to keep the idea of Ashara and Ned being Jon's parents alive, but to the rest ... No. Just no.

No.

Though he will be next Sword of the Morning, because he does have Dayne blood. Queen Dyanna Dayne, Aegon V's mother, is Jon's ancestor. That's if Jon is Rhaegar's son, and I'm sure, that he is.

Furthermore, I think that Jon was conceived at Starfall, at Christmas Eve, in December, and thus was born in September, at the day of autumnal equinox, so his sign of Zodiac is Libra, and thus his guardian planet is Venus. Venus is a morning star, or lucifer, which is Venus' title in Latin, which also translates as lightbringer. And Lucifer is also a name of Satan, before his fall, and in some parts of the Bible, it's also Jesus' title.

This is from that link - "As a name for the morning star, "Lucifer" is a proper name and is capitalized in English. In Greco-Roman civilization the morning star was often personified and considered a god[5] and in some versions considered a son of Aurora (the Dawn)."

Jon is GRRM's parallel to Jesus, the Lamb of God. So Jon is a new Azor Ahai (and first AA was founder of House Dayne, the one who has build Starfall), and Dawn of Daynes is the same Lightbringer, that was used by AA during First Long Night, 5000 years ago.

It remains to be seen whether Jon is even eligible to become Sword of the Morning, as we are told in TWOIAF that the wielder of Dawn and Sword of the Morning is always a knight of House Dayne, while Jon is neither a knight nor of House Dayne. Dayne blood from a century ago doesn't seem likely to cut it.

Dyanna Dayne was never a queen. She is already dead by the time of The Hedge Knight, which is set in 209 AC. Maekar becomes king in 221 AC.

The application of the Latin word lucifer to the Hebrew angel Satan is based on a mistranslation and misinterpretation of the Hebrew "Hillel ben-Shahar," and the idea of Satan "falling" is based on mistranslating and misapplying a passage about Nebuchadnezzar II, King of Babylon, to the Hebrew angel Satan.

The Hebrew angel Satan is portrayed as being one of the angels who faithfully works for God throughout the entire Hebrew Bible, including in the days of Job, down to the days of Zechariah, who lived in the days of Darius II, King of Persia.

Although GRRM has clearly used religion and mistaken interpretations and beliefs in his story to demonstrate how these things can affect characters and his world, it would be a mistake to think GRRM took any real life character, real or fictional, and made one of his characters an in-world version of them.

We'll see about that. Maybe, I'm wrong, or, maybe, I'm right.

Dany, Rhaego, Jon - The Holy Trinity & Jesus. - it will be proved, if Rhaego is alive (the Stallion that mounts the world is Khal of khals, like Jesus is Lord of Lords and King of kings; and the prophecy about Rhaego said, that all people of the world will be his herd, while in the Bible Jesus was titled the great shepherd that will lead all nations - basically the same thing in both prophecies).

Bloodraven - wizard Merlin; Shiera Seastar/Quaithe/The Three-eyed Crow - Morgana le Fay, water fairy Nimue (the Lady of the Lake from Arthurian legends, the one that gave Excalibut to King Arthur), and Morrigan (crow goddess and queen of phantoms from Irish mythology). - this one will be proven, if later it will be revealed in the books, that it was Shiera, who binded Bloodraven to the Weirwood (similar to what Nimue did to Merlin), and if she will take part in Jon getting Lightbringer.

Jon - Arthur Pendragon and Aragorn Elessar - all three are secret princes, raised by their relatives; all three are wielders of "fire"-swords; all three have a name, that starts with an "A" (that is, if Jon is Aegon VII Targaryen, because fAegon will be Aegon VI). Dany - Mother Mary (after her son's birth, three wisemen from the east came to see her child/children, the child's birth was heralded by a star); The Woman of Apocalypse/the woman clothed in the sun (from the Book of Revelation); and the Bride of the Lamb (the Bible ends with their wedding in New Jerusalem). fAegon - Antichrist, the Beast from the sea with one mortally wounded head. Littlefinger - false prophet that told people to worship the Beast from the sea and make his image (Littlefinger was gathering Targaryen banners, he will use them to make people worship fAegon/mummers dragon), the Beast from the earth with lamb's horns and dragon's voice (because he may be descendant of Falene Stokeworth (lamb on her House's sigil) and Aegon IV). - this will be proven (that my guess, about them being based on Biblical characters, was correct) if they will repeat the same fate, as those characters in the Bible.

3 for to 27 against.  Thanks to all voter so far.

A curiosity question, particularly for all the "No" voters.  Who will be "Sword of the Morning"?  Jon Snow anyhow?  Nobody?  Someone else?  Does one actually have to be a Dayne to be the Sword of the Morning?

Yes

“The same guy asked about the Daynes and the Sword of the Morning, asking how that title is decided. George said the Sword of the Morning is always a member of House Dayne, someone who is deemed worthy of wielding Dawn as decided within the House, that whoever it is would have to earn the right to wield it.”

The only character that I can see going to get the sword at the moment is darkstar. He is a great swordsman, a dayne and asshole enough to think he should have the sword. And as it looks like he might have to run from dorne I think anyone who kills him and steals the sword from his dead corpse can be the sword in the mornig...
