Poll: Is Quentyn, Called 'Frog', Still Alive?

Recommended Posts

Quentyn E. Coyote lives! Like his Looney Tunes counterpart he always comes back.

You can see it before your eyes melt, and no, he is roasted to death in a horribly painful way

And if you were to be blasted with a flame-thrower, even after you turned around and were facing the fire, you wouldn't realize it until you looked down and saw yourself ablaze? Not.

If you think the man Barristan saw die was not Quentyn, then I would imagine your vote belongs in the "Yes" column, however tentative that "Yes" may be.  That would seem to be the likely implication, and certainty is not required for any vote.  But if you object, I will remove it.

Like I said, I can't say if he is alive or dead. The dragon could have eaten him, or he could have fallen off its back after it escaped, or one of the Windblown could have killed him for being such an idiot. But his is most certainly not the body that Selmy sees later. Categorize it as you will. :)

Yes. it would take a small amount of time for your eyes to melt away. and this isn't real life, it is a fantasy novel. Quentyn is dead. If he is alive in the next book then feel free to come back here and gloat, but as of now you are wrong.

I removed your name from the tally.  The bolded question is what governs, and it seems you are not going at least 51% one way or the other.

Dead. His death helps drive the Dornish into Aegon's hands. It would be too easy for Dany if she already had a kingdom declared for her before she gets to Westeros.

Quentyn getting roasted is George's play on the "Frog Prince" trope. This fable is present in universe as well as real life.

Quote

"They call him frog," she said, "and we have just learned why. In the Seven Kingdoms there are children's tales of frogs who turn into enchanted princes when kissed by their true love." Smiling at the Dornish knights, she switched back to the Common Tongue. "Tell me, Prince Quentyn, are you enchanted?"

But Quent is not enchanted. He has no special abilities. When he tries to tame the dragon he fails. The princess (through Rhaegal) gives the frog a "kiss" and he dies.

It is done.

Is the guy we know as Quentyn Martell, called 'Frog', still alive at the close of A DANCE WITH DRAGONS?

Charbroiled and dead.  (But his corpse will be FedExed to the CotF to grind into paste.)

Lol, so like Schroedinger's Cat? Quentyn is dead unless there is text that says he's alive? You could apply that same logic to any number of twists in the plot so far, and you would be wrong.

Lol, I'm the one "other" that shows up at the bottom of every survey.

Seems like you've got your bases covered.  You cannot possibly be wrong.

No, I wouldn't. As there is text to say if I am correct or not.

you are correct sir. Now, as in everything I have stated as fact in the last 7 years on this forum, if I am somehow proven wrong I invite folks to gloat. But I am supremely confident that Quentyn is in fact dead as disco

But Disco lives! It's undergoing a revival through Daft Punk, Bruno Mars, Pharrell, Justin Timberlake, the Weeknd and others.

The guitarist from Chic plays on Daft Punk's Get Lucky.

Another Daft Punk disco call out with the guitarist from Chic. Lose Yourself to (Disco) Dance. Check the disco/Soul Train call outs in the video. There's an unofficial video where it's set to clips of Soul Train with nearly 82 million views.

The Weeknd's Can't Feel My Face is heavy with disco funk riffs and the video has lots of 70s call outs including that disco ball.

Bruno Mars' very disco-y Treasure has an equally disco-y video heavily influenced by the Trammps' Disco Inferno and Earth, Wind and Fire's September and Let's Groove Tonight

Bruno also channels disco heavily (especially KC and the Sunshine Band) in Uptown Funk and credits it with his very 70s video.

Lol, just for kicks, I invite you to look at this early thread before Storm came out:

community.fortunecity.ws/healthclub/rowing/100/clashkin/thread70/thread701.html

The number one stupidest theory was that Catelyn released Jaime so Brienne could take him back to King's Landing in exchange for her daughters. My gosh, why would Cat do something so stupid?

The most popular theories were:

Catelyn had Brienne kill him then and there,

Catelyn had Brienne remove a particular part of his body (not his hand)

or my personal favorite:

Catelyn forced him to marry Brienne.

Thanks for that.  Such old info is hard to find.
