If I can offer any advice it would be don’t bother with LA, when I fly over to visit my family the best bit about LA is the drive out of it!.

What about West Covina? :P

Has anybody coloured any eggs, spammers?

I’ve no idea where that is.

We don’t really do the egg colouring thing here, it’s more just the chocolate eggs, my fiancée got me one of those big gold Lindt chocolate hop hops, I don’t know if I can bring myself to eat it :P.

Only two hours from the beach! (Four in traffic. You were basically asking for that reference. :P

I coloured some with onion and leaves mostly because I had nothing to do. Didn't have any chocolate ones.

Chocolate hop hops were a thing at supernatural entity's family ... he once bought me one golden Lindt one like you describe. Great, now I am reminded of the supernatural entity again. <_<

Man! Egg coloring! That takes me back. I don't know if we ever did that with the Chickee when she was little (she's 28 now). I do remember doing as a child with those kits that include a little metal egg holder and pills that make colored water for you to dunk the eggs in + other stuff. Never did much for me. Just give me the chocolate bunny and I'm good. :)  Did you have/see any Easter egg hunts? Is that a thing in Europe? I think our town still does that in one of our parks for really little kids. They basically just put the treats out in the grass and turn the kids loose to run pick them up - not a lot of hiding involved.

The easiest thing is to just boil eggs in water with red onion peels floating in there, they get a natural brownish colour. What I did was to put differently shaped leaves on tze eggs, tied them in a nylon sock to fix the leaf, and boiled them. Then you get leaf patterns on eggs. They look like this then: https://www.google.si/search?q=pobarvana+jajca+s+čebulo&prmd=minv&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwihicnXkuThAhUFIMUKHb9DC3EQ_AUoAnoECAwQAg&biw=320&bih=449&dpr=2.25

I personally never knew egg hunts were a thing until I was with the supernatural entity (my Austrian ex-boyfriend). His family hid some eggs in the garden and we looked for them. But I have no idea if anybody in Slo does it. It is apparently a bigger thing in Austria and Germany. I think only families do it in their gardens though, I don't know if big events are made of it. Maybe @Nazca Barsavi knows that.

Guess who's 22 and made her parents hide Easter eggs today (which of course her boyfriend was a lot quicker to find.)

It's mostly a family thing to hide eggs and little presents in the garden, but there are some public town events meant for children as well. Elementary schools/Kindergarten/etc. usually have an Easter event like that too.

As it's still kind of Easter time, here is an adorable hop hop video:

That was what we did when I was a kid. The onion and the leaves and all. I always screwed up the leaves though, I think I didn’t tie the sock tightly enough? I also wasn’t a fan of the brownish color the onions gave the eggs and so sometimes we bought these Easter egg paints (basically food coloring) to give them some more exciting colors. And we also had these plastic wraps you could put on the egg and while it boiled, the plastic wrap would mold to its shape.

Egghunts were also a thing when I was a kid as well as... “locsolkodás” which basically means that you’re sprinkled with water or some perfumed water to... stay young? I guess. Traditionally it was down with buckets of water and the young boys of a village would go to young girls’ homes and sprinkle them with water and received colored eggs in return.

But nope, I haven’t done any of these for like... 15ish years probably.

Helsinki! Vienna! Also, I didn't say I disliked Venice. :P It was nice, despite being stinky. And also Florence, I like Florence. And Siena. And London. And Dubrovnik. I am sure I liked others that I cannot remember now. Oh, I just remembered Krakow, I also liked Krakow.

World war and socialism and stuff were popular movie topics here too. But then, I don't think there were any Hollywood remakes or whatever, that bad period was generally ... dark, pessimistic dramas and stuff. I think.

Our Internet is out. I can only use the data on my phone. It works for the forum, but isn't that good for other purposes.

I haven’t been to most of those places. Vienna is nice enough, it’s never been my favorite of places, but it’s nice. London is great but very different. I adore Venice and I’ve only seen the railway station of Krakow which had an eerie resemblance to our disastrous railway stations.

Uh. I think we just entered the pessimistic drama era. At least most movies are now about some sort of modern existential crisis or some social justice fight.

Those are gorgeous Buck! Much nicer than anything we ever did or tried to do.

No, I've still never watched that show :P.

I know I’m missing some joke here but what show?

my big Lindt hophop is officially headless. We have lovely weather. Windy, cloudy, grey, perfect for pretending it’s autumn and curling up on the sofa on your last day off and... doing work because it’s 2019 and there’s no such as a day off. Sarcasm aside, I do love this weather and I do love that the wind blows clears the disgusting air in this city a little and people don’t hang out on the street like it’s their private garden party.

Similar here - often windy (but our air is ok - sorry for you that your city air is so bad!). The tree buds are swelling up, getting ready to burst and send out leaves. I love it!

It's getting pretty green here already. I'm just overly thankful it's not 30C yet.

I memtioned West Covina earlier when Sidious listed places to visit in America. Scroll up. :P

officially survived four hours of high schoolers - today was just a day for me listening in on the classes. It is a ... how to say it, a school that specialises in computer science, technical stuff and such, but I am doing a placement on language and literature teaching there. The classes are almost all boys. That should be fun when I actually have to teach them something.

Right okay.

Huh, teenage boys. That should be fun. Well, maybe they are all very mature and motivated. Good luck with that.

Bump.

Survived another day among teenage boys. They are ... fine. Actually I am positively surprised, I used to think this school was worse, but it turns out it is quite nice. Yes, that is my high school snobbishness coming through - we have some schools that have a good reputation, these are mostly "gymnasium" types, and this one is not among them, it is more of a technical school (although it also has the "gymnasium" program). Anyway, the boys (almost all boys) are being surprisingly good, as far as I have gathered until now. But tomorrow, I actually have to stand before them and teach them something and maintain control (while showing them pictures of very naked renaissance and antique stuatues, no less). Keep your fingers crossed for me, spammers!

On the bright side, holidays are coming! 27th April, 1st and 2nd May are all holidays here, and I have no classes next week, and no school internship, since high schoolers also have holidays. I will be mostly preparing for the classes the following week, but I do want to take some time off too. At least a little.

How is everybody? It is surprisingly calm here, so I suppose everybody is either really busy with work or has a great life and does not want to lose valuable time on the Internet.

Have the teenage boys tried to awkwardly flirt with you or anything?.

I'm in a very good happy mood actually, I've recently got back from some music practice with friends and really enjoyed it :D, than had bath time with Mini Sith.
