Its funny you picked Dany for worst in Thrones, as it was her chapters condensed into a novella that won the Hugo!

(Not a criticism of you btw, because i know its subjective, it was just interesting.)

Best:

Thrones: Dany/Ned

Clash: Cat

Storm: Cat/Dany

Feast: Brienne (its like its own novella so works very well as an individual storyline) and Cersei

Dance: Theon/Bran

Worst;

Thrones: Jon

Clash: Jon

Storm: Sam

Feast: Arya

Dance; Davos and Tyrion

This one i found kind of funny too with Clash because you chose both the KL characters for best and worst :P i suppose they are different parts of the same story though

ive tried to base this on storyline rather than character btw

I don't like the Dothraki, and I found the story unpleasant to read.  It's also disconnected from the rest of the story.  I liked the end with the Dragons, though.

We had this survey several months ago.  :)

Best/Favorite From AGOT:  Daenerys Targaryen - who can deny the awesomeness of the last chapter when she awoke the dragons!

Best/Favorite From ACOK:  Daenerys Targaryen - The journey across the desert and Qarth were great chapters.

Best/Favorite From ASOS:   Daenerys Targaryen - The Unsullied, tricking Kraznys, Arstan's reveal.

Best/Favorite From AFFC:    Samwell Tarly - Getting to OT and meeting Marwyn.

Best/Favorite From ADWD:  Daenerys Targaryen - Daznak's Pit, the harpy, Dany, Barristan, Missandei, Greyworm, Daario, Drogon.  All of my fave characters are in those chapters.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Worst/Didn't Like From AGOT:  Sansa Stark - My opinion is colored by my bias against Sansa.

Worst/Didn't Like From ACOK:   Tyrion Lannister - I guess I'm not a fan of KL politics though I know it's the central location of the plot.

Worst/Didn't Like From ASOS:  Jon Snow - I don't care for the character and I don't have an interest in the Northern story arc.

Worst/Didn't Like From AFFC:  Sansa Stark - Same reason I already gave.

Worst/Didn't Like From ADWD:  Jon Snow - Same reason I already gave.  The wall arc really went downhill when Sam left.  Sam is far from exciting but he was the voice of reason at the wall.

Agot. Best. Tyrion. Taking a piss off the edge of the world, beautiful.

Worst. Jon. Pretty uneventful

Acok. Best. Tyrion. BBW, and all the Hand work Tyrion had to master.

Worst. Bran? I dont like saying that, but it starts slow, though Reek is so damn entertaining.

Asos. Best. Dany/Arya. Never a dull moment. From Harrenall to Braavos. With all the Berics and Sandors in between. And Dany? Slavers Bay beneath her dainty sandaled feet. 0 to 100. Real quick

Worst. Prologue lol. Does that count? And I liked Chetts chapter but it certainly wasnt a Merrett, or Tyrion Sansa Cat Sam etc!

Affc. Best. Victarion. With Aeron in second place.

Worst. Aero. I get board.

Adwd. Best. Tyrion/Theon. Its probably the best book to date, Tyrion the patricide is amazing! The fight with his demons while traveling the world, just great. And Reek. Wow! Reek Reek it rhymes with GRRM is such a fucking genius.

Worst. Perhaps Jon, though I was enthralled

Mind you I wouldnt change much at all of anything

AGOT:

Best: Ned.  Loved his grumpy disposition on everything and lack of patience for the games people play

Worst:  Sansa.  Was a bit of a grind with her courtesy

ACOK:

Best:  Arya probably.  Really showed the horrors of war.  Davos.  Enjoyed the new 'angle' of the Stannis uprising.  Love his schtick of being loyal and truthful.  sallador saan encounters are great.

Worst:  Dany?  Slogging through Qarth was a bit of a treadmill.  Wishing someone would have killed of Xaro

ASOS:

Best:  Jon or Dany?  Brought the action of battles at Slavers Bay and the Wall

Worst:  Jaime.  Not much really.  Good character arc, but not a lot of story progression or intrigue/twists, or whatnot

AFfC

Best:  Cersei.  Just for the paranoia and the huge payoff when everything hits the fan

Worst:  Brienne.  Lots of meandering and travelling.

ASwD:

Best:  Reek and Davos.

Worst: Dany.  I want them to just nuke Mereen and move on.  Tyrion, Quentyn, Griff, etc's travels get a bit monotonous at times.

A Game of Thrones:

BEST: Dany (Tough choice because I love them all, but Dany has dragons)

WORST: Sansa (although I would have to say LEAST FAVOURITE rather than worst)

A Clash of Kings:

BEST: Tyrion

WORST: Arya (again LEAST FAVOURITE not worst ;) )

A Storm of Swords:

BEST: Jaime

WORST: Davos (Don't take it personally, you're a nice guy but for some reason your POVs in Storm really jar with me and seem to pull me out of the story)

A Feast for Crows:

BEST: Brienne

WORST: Cersei

Funnily enough, after my first read I would have still picked these two but put them in the reverse order. However, on re-reads I've come to really appreciate the world building in Brienne's POV and Cersei has started to seem a little one dimensional to me compared to the other characters.

A Dance with Dragons:

BEST: Theon/Reek - I just think these chapters are wonderfully crafted.

WORST: Tyrion - I hate the whole Penny arc.

Overall

I have to make a mention of Bran too. I've found his storyline the most compelling throughout the series, although on an individual book by book basis there are other POVs that stand out more to me.

A Game of Thrones

Best POV has to go to Daenerys Targaryen.  Her wedding to Drogo, getting the silver horse to jump over the flames, waking the dragons from stones.  Awesome.

Worst POV is Sansa Stark's.

A Clash of Kings

Best POV award again goes to Daenerys Targaryen.  Leading her khalasar with courage, house of the undying, Arstan and Belwas.

Worst POV is Arya.  Too much wandering around and I'm not interested in Arya.

A Storm of Swords

Best POV award goes to Daenerys Targaryen.  The strategy she used on Kraznys, Selmy's reveal.

Worst POV goes to Jon Snow.

A Feast for Crows

Best POV goes to Cersei

Worst POV might be Samwell.  I like fat boy but he's not mr. excitement.

A Dance with Dragons

Best POVs are Daenerys Targaryen's.  Flying her dragon was an awesome read.

Worst POV is Arya Stark's.  She did not belong in this book.  I would have preferred if she was not in this book.

The characters and the story were verra interesting book one through three.  Good story telling.

Then pov's moved to chapter names and the story expanded.

Here I am now waiting for the you know what to finish what martin started.

I can't pick a favorite pov because martin introduced many new ones in FfC via chapter names.

Plus FfC and DwD is supposedly one big book broken down into two.

I dunna have a favorite main character --- I did however enjoy Bronn, Osha, Asha, Sandor, Oberyn, and Duck.

A Game of Thrones

Best: Daenerys - Love her character development and the introduction to Essos.

Worst: Sansa - Most of her storyline is buildup that doesn't receive any payoff until ASOS. Great, but frustrating to read.

A Clash of Kings

Best: Davos - Stannis' storyline is godly.

Worst: Sansa - See AGOT.

A Storm of Swords

Best: Sansa - My god. I went from dreading Sansa chapters to dreading when they ended. Beautifully depicting the death of innocence.

Worst: Samwell - It was good, but quite evidently the weakest in the novel. Aside from the White Walker clash, nothing really of interest.

A Feast for Crows

Best: Jaime - Everything about Jaime's Riverlands arc was fantastic. Almost as good as his time with Brienne.

Worst: Samwell - Again, one or two highlights (Aemon's death, his last chapter), but nothing of great significance.

A Dance With Dragons

Best: Theon - Out of all the superb northern arcs, GRRM's depiction of a broken man attempting to heal is his most poignant arc ever.

Worst: Quentyn - For someone who enjoys Arianne's POV, her brother is an absolute bore.

Despite not being on this list, Jon and Arya are probably the most consistently enjoyable POVs for me overall.
