Time for the Vale to enter the fray....

How/When/Why do you think the Vale will enter the ongoing conflicts plaguing the seven kingdoms?

Probably after Alayne is revealed as being Ned starks daughter. They might try to put Sansa on Winterfell, or the Vale might just get involved in the conflicts between the Golden Company and the Iron Throne.

That is the million dollar question.

LF has set 13/14 year old Sansa Stark Lannister now known as Alyayne Stone upon the task of wooing Harry.

The tournament is gonna take place at the bottom level (Gates of the Moon) of the Eyrie because the Eyrie has been shut down due to winter weather.

During about the same time there is a winter weather advisory going north of the neck as in Stannis & companions are stuck at a crofters village and a snow storm has left WF a winter wonderland.

A Dance with Dragons - Theon I      Outside the snow still fell. The snowmen the squires had built had grown into monstrous giants, ten feet tall and hideously misshapen. White walls rose to either side as he and Rowan made their way to the godswood; the paths between keep and tower and hall had turned into a maze of icy trenches, shoveled out hourly to keep them clear. It was easy to get lost in that frozen labyrinth, but Theon Greyjoy knew every twist and turning.      Even the godswood was turning white. A film of ice had formed upon the pool beneath the heart tree, and the face carved into its pale trunk had grown a mustache of little icicles. At this hour they could not hope to have the old gods to themselves. Rowan pulled Theon away from the northmen praying before the tree, to a secluded spot back by the barracks wall, beside a pool of warm mud that stank of rotten eggs. Even the mud was icing up about the edges, Theon saw. "Winter is coming …"/

Maybe, the Vale forces shows up at WF sometime during a Dream of Spring (book seven) or maybe Baelish's food hording & trading has a part to play during winter (book six).  :dunno:

Maybe they should enter the Frey instead, and just wreak havoc at the Twins. :D

I like it. Double-entendre.

I am very interested to see if Sansa & Harry do marry before the Vale enter the fray.  And whether she may be pregnant if Harry falls in battle.

Will we see a Kingdom of the North & Vale? Something akin to what Robb did with the Riverlands?

IMO Baelish does not have much time left on this earth and Sansa will be his downfall after she learns of his involvment in Neds death, I think Bran helps her see this via vision form while she preys at a weirwood. I think she uses her lady bits on sweet Robin and becomes his guardian due to being the only family he has left, and with Yohn Royce help they March on WF where they find it already in control of Jon Snow. Then they fight the WW and blah blah.

I suspect that the fray will enter the Vale first.

In response to a call for help from Jon, they will go North at Sansa's request to help the North in its fight against the Others.

Behind Sansa to plague the seven kingdoms like some divine god

How do you think young teenage Sansa goes from the bastard daughter of the Lord Protector to commanding a region?

Do you see the entire region rallying behind her just because she is a Stark? What do you think would be the incentive of intervening for your other idea?

Would little Robert still be alive here? Is the Lord Protector to rouse the support of the opposition behind some "for the Ned" campaign?

Yes, he does.   I am not convinced he is even dead, much less that he will remain so.  Too much unfinished business.   Among other things, his parentage still needs to pay off.

The Vale entering the fight is not at all beneficial.  All it will do is bring more troops into battle and the small folk will suffer even more.  The best thing that can happen for the Vale is for someone reasonable to step up and chuck Littlefinger, Sansa, and Harry Hardying out the moon door.

I don't know what the author is going to do.  The Vale going into battle for one side or the other will just make things worse.  Tossing LF, Sansa, and Harry off that mountain to an ungraceful landing in the rocks below would be for the best, in my opinion.  But maybe that's not what George wants.  He wants to stir up more trouble and bring on more misery to the commoners at the hands of the nobles.

Tis difficult to say since the million dollar question is difficult to bring forward.

Little Robert has no clout and no power. His keeper does.  Just as 13-14 year old Sansa's keeper has influence and power over her.

Besides while there is a snow storm happening in the north the Vale is preparing for a tourney.

Mischief is also a foot at Storm's End. with the Ageon & Golden Company.

Like Young Griff. Wash the dye out your hair, shake some hands and conquer a castle.

Indeed. It already is.

Littlefinger stroked the neat spike of his beard. "Lysa has woes of her own. Clansmen raiding out of the Mountains of the Moon, in greater numbers than ever before . . . and better armed."

"Distressing," said Tyrion Lannister, who had armed them.

Quote

There's the clans as well. The Burned Men are fearless since Timett One-Eye came back from the war. And half a year ago, Gunthor son of Gurn led the Stone Crows down on a village not eight miles from here. They took every woman and every scrap of grain, and killed half the men. They have steel now, good swords and mail hauberks, and they watch the high road—the Stone Crows, the Milk Snakes, the Sons of the Mist, all of them. Might be you'd take a few with you, but in the end they'd kill you and make off with your daughter."

And things are just going to get worse.

Quote

What would you give us for your lives, Tyrion son of Tywin? Swords? Lances? Mail?"

"All that, and more, Gunthor son of Gurn," Tyrion Lannister replied, smiling. "I will give you the Vale of Arryn."

Eventually Halfmans coming home, and we all know

Indeed. And at least two dragons will be dancing sooner or later. Perhaps they will choose different partners.
