Kajjo
Daenerys appears to be certain that Jon can ride a dragon. However, we know that so far only Targaryens ride dragons and she must believe that Jon Snow is a Stark. Why on earth does she expect him to be able to ride a dragon? Does she know more about his parentage?
House Cambodia
The dragon was nuzzling him from the time they first met. It was a fair assumption he'd allow Jon to ride him. Odd that Dany didn't show any further curiosity, though.

Why does she expect a Stark to be able to ride a dragon?
Nerevanin
I take it as "I like Jon, so my dragons automatically like him too".
xander_blackfyre
Have you ever dated someone that loved their dog or cat so much that if the animal did not like you they would end up breaking it off? Jon seems to be the only other person the dragons warm up to in such a way. That really intrigued her and got her thinking there is something about this guy. Now the question is does Dany know the history of dragonriders and how many of them had the blood of Valyria in them? If so then she should be more suspicious how is this guy from the North which is as far as you can get from any Valyrian blood in Westeros able to ride. Now it could be a simple case of a new relationship being in the honeymoon stages and her being blinded by love.

That's what I meant. Viserys and Daenerys were obsessed with Targaryen history and their right to the throne... I would exprect them to know such stuff. 1 hour ago, xander_blackfyre said: If so then she should be more suspicious how is this guy from the North which is as far as you can get from any Valyrian blood in Westeros able to ride. Exactly. But she isn't. So its either bad scripting or she knows something.

MinscS2
Dany knows that her dragons, if not outright like Jon, that they at the very least tolerate him. She doesn't know why though. Could it be because she likes him? Possibly. Could it be because he seems to respect them while being curious while not being batshit terrified? Maybe. Could it be because he's a Targaryen? In her mind, absolutely not. We the audience knows, but Daenerys has absolutely no reason to consider it what so ever. It makes more sense (not to mention that it's easier for her) to believe that they like him because she likes him, and then just roll with it. At the end of the day, it's more important for her *that* her children accepts her new boyfriend than *why* they accept him. And since Rhaegal seemed to nuzzle Jon, letting him trying to ride him didn't seem that strange. I imagine Daenerys is glad to finally have someone to fly around with. Of course, once she learns of Jons true heritage, she'll realize that the "I like him so they like him"-explanation wasn't all there was to it.
