What will be the final WTF moment?

Recommended Posts

I don't think there can be a WTF moment that will genuinely shock me. Nothing that could happen would shock me after E3.

Honestly deep down I want everyone to just die. EVERYONE. After the way they ruined episode 3 and the show in general for me, it's hard to envision a WTF moment like Hodor again.

There has to be further attempts at WTF moments; after all, D&D are all about WTF moments. Credible plot and character, not so much.

Cersei looks out over the walls of the Red Keep at all of the dead and dying. She sips her wine with a wry grin and cradles Euron Jr. with her other arm.

Fade to black...

I will puke

Considering a little assassin who failed at assassin training just stabbed winter - I think the final WTF moment will be everyone sweltering in an endless summer, wishing that Winter was still coming and realizing they will never see one in Westeros again.

I'm not as far gone as you, but it would be funny if the last scene has the bankers from Braavos show up looking to collect the money they loaned to Stannis, and there's no one left in all of Westeros.

Yes that is my prediction - the Iron Bank will win.... Banks always win! Time for the debt to be paid.

Is that a win? As Ser Sinister points out, with the Lannisters having paid their debts in full and every other house that owed them money now wiped out, I think the Iron Bank will need to just close its doors and send its staff into retirement!

It's pretty clear to me that Dany and Jon aren't exactly comfortable with the Jon/Targaryen reveal, but there's been no signs that it's a major problem yet, either.

Clearly they're in love, which was why the earlier dragon-riding scene was included.

Cersei isn't enough of a threat to cause a major problem between them, and three episodes of falling action with no threat to all of humanity doesn't add up.

Which leaves...Bran has now lost control of himself and is turning into the major villain at the end, which has already basically been setup.  So nothing more would be required except one confirmation scene.

This would lead to Dany and Jon, married and in love, having defeated Cersei, having to sacrifice themselves to save the world, and a shitload of other major characters dying.

So the final WTF moment is Dany and Jon sacrificing themselves to save the world from 3 Eyed Night King Bran.

Can you tell me when or how this was set up? I am legitimately asking, because I can not think of anything in the show that does set this up.

Something to do with Daenerys.

She's lost Jorah and in Epsiode 2 they shoehorned in a scene with Greyworm and Missandei talking about how they want to go back to Essos. Essentially no one wants her to be Queen apart from herself. Everyone will want Jon instead of her and he has the better claim.

Does she kill Jon? Fly north and become the Nights Queen? I don't know, but I can't see the Jon and Danerys issue being resolved by talking, them getting married or Jon bending the knee.

Non sense. Dany was only able to become queen because of all of her supporters & Grey Worm & Missandei specifically said they would still be loyal to her they just didn't feel they would have a place in the new world.

She would never kill Jon to have better rights to the throne??? What show are you watching? Jon already bent the knee & doesn't even want the throne but they will either get married & rule together or Dany will kneel to Jon. She never once thought about having the throne while Viserys was alive & he was cruel to her.

Cersei has borrowed to pay for the Golden Company which are about to be wiped out.

I got the distinct impression from her last conversation with Gatiss's banker that she'd paid up front. He said he'd never had such a good customer, or words to that effect.

Have to fully agree.

1. Jon and Dany haven't exactly had time to mull over the long-term future. They have an opportunity now.

2. There is no longer any existential threat for anyone to sacrifice themselves for, just regular human politics and war.

3. I don't think Bran has much power once he detaches from his weirwood tree. He'll stay in Winterfell and do more of the naff all he's made his specialism.

While the two previous "major WTF moments" where pretty "wtf?", they really didn't really add or change much from a story perspective.
If the third moment follows the same formula, it will be something eyebrow-raising, but ultimately be something rather nonsensical.

Think about it.

Stannis burning Shireen?
Didn't really change the outcome, everything that happened afterwards would've happened anyway.
He burned her because he was about to loose a war that he ultimately lost anyway. Ramsays 20-good-men had already done their deed, his army was already suffering from desertions, and he would've lost to Ramsay regardless.

Hodor being warged by future Bran in the past?
Again, didn't really change much from a story narrative, especially since we have (yet...) to see Bran do anything remotely similar again.
Hodor would still be a friendly but daft big man that followed Bran north, even without this reveal.

All women will be pregnant at the same time: Dany, Arya, Cersei, Sansa, Brienne even!

This won't be so shocking but the fact that all men who lost their balls will grow them back! Greyworm, Varys, Bran in a sense...

I've posted this in another thread but here it goes :P:

I think it will involve an overlooked character, and whatever they do, say, or whatever happens to them, will have a huge consequence, although not necessarily a long-term one. Jon killing Dany or vice-versa is not a very WTF moment imo, compared to other things on the show/books it's almost ''obvious''. On the other it may be something that was more shocking 3 years ago or whenever D&d heard it, and may not be as shocking now (for example, Tyrion betraying Dany or burning KL). That said, I think it may have to do with Euron - outside of the main characters he's the one who doesn't seem totally useless at this point.

As much as I would love to see Jaime kill Cersei, I have also been expecting it, so maybe she will kill him instead. Either because she knows she has lost him forever (if I can't have you...) or she suspects he's going to kill her. Or Euron could kill Cersei. She seems to think she is in control of their relationship and is the one manipulating him, so it would be a bit of a twist if he turns on her. Not sure these are quite up to the WTF par though. Perhaps the method of killing is the key?

The whole population of Kings Landing getting blown/burned up would be pretty WTF - but then again they already did that on a smaller scale with the destruction of the sept, so the shock factor isn't as high now. I have been thinking Cersei would do something like that for a while but perhaps if another character (maybe inadvertently?) triggers it that would make it a worthy wtf moment.

I don't think anyone killing cersei or Cersei killing anyone can be considered a WTF moment.
