Football, a Sterling effort, but Virgil got Dijk'd.

Is Karanka still their manager? I believe this has been a constant throughout his career.

No, it's that other carefree, attack minded manager. Tony Pullis.

It is a shockingly low number, but they have conceded the second least (behind Sheff Utd, whose manager has done an outstanding job)

Pulis had a really good start to the season but seems to have reverted to form. As much as its painful to watch, I do have a grudging respect for his ability to enforce that style of football on a team and grind out results. There is something inspiring about his complete lack of interest in entertainment.

They should get Allardici.

His attacking numbers at Everton were second to .... well, everyone. But that's beside the point!

Hah. Looks like more points are going to be lost in the so-called "race" for the top four spots. But Tottenham should still make it even if they lose here, although they might be without Kane and Son next week.

Cruel on Tottenham, they had held out against the odds for a whole half with 9 men and then lost it in stoppage time.

Still, they are 4 points above Arsenal so unless the Gunners pull out two wins and Tottenham fail again they should be in the CL.

Everton for their last game of the season isn't the easiest, especially missing both Kane and Son. It wouldn't be a huge surprise for them to lose.

It would, however, be a surprise for Arsenal to win both remaining matches on current form (or United for that matter). Tottenham's goal difference is better than the Gunners so being 4 points ahead might be enough.

Well, in Bundesliga news. This matchday has more or less settled the relegation spots.

Hannover and Nürnberg will drop directly, and Stuttgart will play in the play-offs (yes, that's what it looked like for over a month, but it's really over now, unless something crazy happens during the last two matchdays).

Meanwhile the promotion battle in Bundesliga 2 looks like the inept top four race in the EPL.

We crashed out of the promotion race last month after almost failing to win a single game in April (we ended that drought last WE). Yes, it was as abysmal a month as it sounds. Yesterday we threw away the chance to make a last ditch effort to somehow scrape thru to the play-off spot (that was in no small part down to ludicrous penalty for a "handball"). Anyway, after the last matchday the league leaders Köln after looking shaky for a while pulled the trigger on their manager Anfang (who joined them at the beginning of the season with the aim to get them back into the Bundesliga). But they are still soundly on course nevertheless (6 points clear of the play-off spot with 3 games to go should be enough to get them over the finish line). Yesterday Paderborn (second placed) also lost, which offered Mordor a chance to overtake them and get back into a promotion spot. All they had to do was beating relegation battler Ingolstadt at home, shouldn't be too difficult with their Bundesliga squad. I was pleasently surprised to see they managed to lose 3-1 at home (thus ingolstadt climbed onto the relegation play off spot). Thus they remain outside the promotion ranks on 4th (please God if you exist, make it happen, make them miss out on the promotion). Third placed Union Berlin play Darmstadt tomorrow, who are safe and sound (tenth place 8 points clear of the relegation play off spot and 13 points away from Union). Let's see how Union will manage to botch it.

Cardiff are relegated.

That's pretty much the end of any slim chance that Brighton might grind out some sort of result against City out of pure desperation so Leicester's effectively the only hope of them dropping any points.

ETA: Firmino's apparently very unlikely to make the Barcelona game on Tuesday too. Presumably he probably shouldn't have really played in the first game. Bollocks.

And old man Pizarro has now really put Bayern into the driver's seat.

Dortmund throw away a 2-0 lead at Bremen and were lucky in the end to escape with a 2-2.

Bremen really could have gotten a penalty for a Götze handball, esp. if you look what a joke penalty was awarded in the Bayern game.
