Rant & Rave Without Repercussion [book and show spoilers]

Recommended Posts

Lots of shitty writing in this episode as expected, but the scene that annoyed me the most was Bronn's. Sure, the script was awful, but the very idea that some random dude with a loaded crossbow could just walk in and threaten the Hand of the Queen without repercussion is beyond laughable. No one bothered to post some guards outside the door?

We could have one of the final (thank the gods!) episodes be titled "The Mad Queen", just to leave the audience wondering, "is it Dany? Is it Cersei?"

Also, so much for their "women on top" bs from a few yrs back, since all the top tier ladies are a mean gurl, an unhinged nutjob, and a cruel and crazy drunk. Way to go, D&D! :ack:

Yup pretty much all the women in power are mad queens now; Daenerys is suddenly unfit to even sit next to Jon in the Throne Room, Cersei has been Mad Queen Romulan since season 6 and Sansa is unnecessarily hostile and claimed to be dangerous by Dany.

The whole idea that his threat can bear fruit is nonsensical. So he comes, threatens to kill them both if they don't give him a castle and what? How exactly will he fulfill his promise? How can Bronn exercise his vengeance? Or is he able to infiltrate anything anywhere at anytime?

But isn't it... shite?

I mean, why?

I suppose we should take solace in the fact that they don't just crap all over the books, but on their own stuff as well? Maybe?

So after the Iron Fleet destroys Dany’s ships, does Euron just find Missandei and head back to KL? Why wouldn’t he just go to whatever shore the rest of the characters swam to and capture them as well?

The setting for Missandei’s death was ridiculous. We’ve never seen KL look like that before. It looked like they were hanging out outside of Meereen or Qarth

For a blissful 20 seconds I had thought Missandei just drowned. Because she can shout for help in 19 languages but not swim... Or you know. Because people do drown in ship crashes. That’s like a thing.

Since the showrunners said that Dany 'forgot' about Euron and the fleet, is this their way of blaming her directly for getting Rhaegar killed?  It's hard to tell, since the characters do so many dumb things, which sometimes are recognized as dumb, and sometimes not.

Another precursor to her going mad and being put down?

The United Nations needs to sanction whichever 21st century superpower that sold laser guided technology to the Greyjoys to use on their scorpions.  That’s just irresponsible war profiteering at its worst!

Lol, too true!

The thing is though, is that this is about the only way of explaining how the first Targs were even able to conquer Westeros in the first place; none of those Westerosi futzes 300 years ago had the sense to solicit heat-seeking missles.

That is what is so annoying about the showrunners. Is it Daenerys being dumb or the writing being poor? The fact that they acknowledge it would suggest the former, but if she did forget would Tyrion or Varys or Greyworm?!

Isn't a more logical explanation that they remembered Euron, but felt confident due to them having two dragons?

CANNONBALL RUN III: WESTEROS EDITION!: Okay, so hear me out here.  RIght now, almost everyone in Westeros is racing to King's Landing to kill Cersei.  Tyrion, Dany, Jon, Davos, Jaime, the Hound, Arua etc are all right there just trying to get to Cersei.  It's like watching Burt Reynolds, Jaime Farr, Roger Moore, Sammy Davis Jr and that Urangatang from 'Every Which Way But Loose' trying to get there before everyone else!

:rofl::lmao::laugh::rofl:

That really split me up, but the whole rant was just soooo epic. And an epic is exactly what the show is not, but was supposed to be. It's Santa Barbara with Dragons. I mean Dragon.

They didn't spend it working on the plot and dialogue, that's for sure.

Or maybe they did? And, of course, that would make the whole thing even more appallingly ateocious. :D

Couldn't they have had Gendry just refuse to be legitimized and ride off into the sunset with Arya, Kingdom of Heaven style? Oh ffs.

And don't get me started with Jaime. Hopefully he rides to KL to actually kill Cersei and not start grovelling again...

I don't think B&W have actually touched one of the ASOIAF books in years. I'm serious. They seem to know very little about the story and its details at this point.

So you're saying that they actually even did at one point???

Still wondering wtf is with Bran? Jojen died for him.?

Jojen, Hodor, and Summer.

Just so we could have this amazing 3ERaven infodump robot who sees all and knows all. Except of course for those things the plot demands he knows nothing about.

Apparently you can run out of likes and other reaction emojis. So I had to reply:

And Mera has just vanished from the face of Westeros. Probably for the best.

(God, they screwed the fantasy storylines so badly. I mean, they screwed up everything really badly, but they blatantly didn't care about any of that stuff in particular).

I just want to hear one "Dance, puppets!" from Bran.
