A bridled white horse, no less, though without saddle, just there waiting for Arya.  Why? How? Was that the Golden Company's leader's horse?  White horse, no saddle but a bridle, with lots of blood stains on its white coat, yet still unharmed.  Is that a symbol of Plot Armored Arya, who has committed a multitude of bloody acts, but yet remains essentially innocent, thanks to the Hound?  What?

Well obviously that can't happen, since it makes too much sense.

I couldn't stop laughing at how much Drogon had levelled up for this episode. His dragonfire was destroying stone buildings and castle walls with hilarious ease, they were literally exploding somehow.

I didn't buy Dany snapping and slaughtering everyone at all. Just because she got angry earlier for innocents suffering and her friend dying doesn't make he sudden descent into "burn the whole city for no reason" madness convincing.

I'm still shocked by how fake was the drama.

There was no need for armies. There was no need for fighting. There was no need for burning the city. Every single piece that the writers created, like Dany madness, her angryness, her army being weakened, her dragon dying, the armada at the docks, everything was pointing towards this: Dany flying straight to the Red Keep, destroying it instantly killing only those in the castle and end of episode.

The fault is 100% from D&D. They align some rules, they determine how their universe works and then they ignore what they stablished. I suggest you guys to count how many scorpions shot at Dany, and how many spears were fired. She could just have ignored all of that.

Well the show did go out of its way to make all of Arya's kills the most evil and despicable people they could find.

The white horse is there so that she can ride to Jon Snow on he can "finally see her" and now that they are cousins they can finally have their tru wuv.

Dany's entire story leads to this. She's the last surviving member of an insane, inbred house known for burning people alive. Her "children" are weapons of mass destruction. Her character arc is actually a skillful bit of misdirection, making you think she can be the breaker of chains, etc. She was born to kill, baby.

Not even Aerys was this mad. He decided to burn the entire city once Tywin fooled him into letting his armies into the city just to start ransacking everything. That was years after being whispered about being surrounded by traitors and spies. Dany on the other hand, hears the sound of bells and not only goes crazy, she goes completely batshit insane, yelling like a maniac and forgetting about her main target - Cersei. Not really believable.

I think what is more likely to happen in the books:

I suspect that show!Jon's arc since season 7 is more or less the role of fAegon in the books. I think he will be accepted, more or less, as the more acceptable and rightful Targaryen ruler and will probably displace Tommen/Cersei. I think when Dany finally arrives she will find, what she sees as her birthright, already taken by an imposter and will burn the city out of jealousy and rage.

I think the book and show Jon arcs are going to begin to realign in the final episode as well.

Not only that but she had every plot reason to fly straight towards Cersei. SHE was the focus of her anger! SHE lied to her, SHE let her army get almost destroyed, SHE killed Missandei, SHE was usurping her throne, etc, etc, etc. So why was Dany avoiding the Red Keep?

I love book Arya, but I so want show Arya to die screaming. Seriously.

Also, the Hound and Arya travelled together all the way from Winterfell to KL, and only when they’re inside the RK already and the battle is on does he think she maybe should leave, cuz, you know, it could be dangerous. Right.

I don't care if show!Dany would kill innocent people or not. But in those circunstances she would NOT WASTE TIME burning the city. She would just flight straight to Cersei. It has nothing to do with being good or evil, or killing or saving innocent people. If she is going to snap violently and kill someone WHY not kill the focus of her angryness/madness/sadness? There was nothing in the way. Its like going up on a boxing fight and punching everyone BUT your opponent.

Yeah, this was just so stupid. She gave Cersei so much time to escape and instead went full "evil for the lulz" psycho. Just idiotic stuff. They could have at least come up with some reason for her to say "I must get Cersei, I don't care who gets hurt along the way". But no, she had the perfect opportunity to end this with minimal amount of victims and instead decided to just spent half an hour burning random civilians.

You can believe that Dany's "Mad Queen" turn was inevitable and a fitting place for her arc to end up (which I do) and simultaneously thinking the show didn't do enough to set it up and sell it. Foreshadowing it isn't the same as making it feel believable and earned once it actually happens.

100% with you.

We’re not the only ones ranting...

Had this episode taken place just before the finale of Season 4 or 5, it might be forgivable, but with just over an hour left in the series, it's far too late to make a mistake of this magnitude. There's no time to switch gears, because Mad Queen Dany (and, apparently Arya's inexplicable survival and possible revenge) is what "Thrones" will always have been about. This disappointment is what we've all been waiting for.

The bigger they are, the harder they fall, and few TV shows have gotten quite as big as "Thrones." Even fewer have failed so spectacularly for so many viewers.

It isn t just that. They build s7 in a bunch of premises that this season were completly ignored.

There is no logic in making jon and danny become romantic involved last season and handle their realtion this way this season. It  didn t make any sense and felt completly forced so that they could be in conflict in the end...
