The way I see it. If you can't make a livable income from wages alone with a 40hr week in any employment sector then the system is broken. A culture of tipping in the service sector is all well and good and if that's the culture then great, people will get to make extra money because they provide good service. But tipping should never be essential to one's survival in a just and fair labour system.
