The whole thing is just awful. IThey should not have skipped over so much book material. Or, better yet, they should've created their own plotlines if they wanted a "Daenerys Targaryen is evil and needs to be killed story." Honestly, they made it out as if Daenerys was worse and deserved worse than Cersei, Tywin and Ramsay. And then they gave her worse...

She could have seen that coming a mile away from that high up.

I could go on and on about tactical misfires on Daenerys' part in Seasons 7 and 8.

Apparently, a woman who is kidnapped, and then threatened with rape, enslavement, or imprisonment is meant to just accept that that's her fate. She breaks bad if she fights back. D & D really are a pair of misogynistic gobshites.
Angel Eyes
You know from a strategic standpoint, I blame Tyrion. It's his idea that they split up and that put them in the path of the Iron Fleet. See here.

ummester
Is the Dany argument still happening? She was a great character because she created controversy - why is that hard to understand? I'd rather write a character the world hates than one the world finds boring - better still, a character the world love/hates. Dany is a love hate - she shows us the flaws in our own ideology - a perfect character really. And yet there is so much hate. Think that says more about audience mentality than the writing. Well, we do not know how GRRM is going to write it so hopefully it will be better than D&D. We do have a glimpse of GRRM showing Danny’s inner conflict when she is talking to the grass questioning what she is and her final answer is Fire and Blood. This IMO is excellent foreshadowing by GRRM but is lacking in the show.
