Mosi Mynn
The new Russell T Davies' series following a family from north England into fifteen years in the future (last episode we were in 2028). https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000539g Very disturbing. It takes current issues and extrapolates them into a grim believable dystopia, including a female Nigel Farage-esque Prime Minster (played brilliantly by Emma Thompson, who looks like she's having the time of her life!). I tend to love RTD's characters, and he's great at ensembles. It's a bit choppy, but the stories feel all-too-real and horrific. It looks like we're doomed ... VarysTheSpider
Easily the best show I've watched this year. Every single episode was great. Laugh us into hell, indeed!
Mr. Chatywin et al.
Thirstiest thread title ever!
Mosi Mynn
Weird ending - bit Doctor Whoesque, really. It's set up for a potential sequel with quite a few plot threads left dangling - but it works as a standalone miniseries too. Loved Edith and Rosie's stands - that was a nice moment of triumph after the bleak drudgery. Muriel's speech should be screened into every home on the planet. VarysTheSpider
Davies has ruled out a season 2, which is probably for the best. The longer this would go on the more unrelatable it would be.

Zorral
Finished the first episode -- very powerful stuff. Also it's very well done. Frankly, it's terrifying.
