They could have profited from the slave trade but they instead chose to let the custom end on Dragonstone. I am willing to believe Lord Aenar took his slaves with him to save them from The Doom. The Targaryens are good. Aegon sided against those who practiced slavery and his descendant is now doing the same thing. Daenerys is Aegon the Conqueror 2.0.
